My first show back in 73 was differant. Arlo had cut his hair, ntm: refused to play Alice's Rest. ( he told the crowd if they wanted to hear it that bad to buy the record)(lots of pissed off college students that night) It didn't phase me, as Alice's was the LAST song I wanted to hear. And I like it when Arlo doesn't cave in to pear pressure..... ral ( like that would ever happen)

Lots of great shows inbetween. A few I might of been dissapointed, but for the most part, they were all great shows. I loved it when he used to close with Amazeing Grace....( blundervibes lasting for days)

HD walk in 03 was terriffic... Ottawa Folk Fest in Ontario, 04 was magnificant, as he shared the stage with Judy Collins. (ntm: Arlo literally saved the Canadians from their nearly going bank-rupt, and the Folk Fest still lives today, mostly because of AG).

10/7/05 Was most likely the VERY best show I've ever been too. He played Alice's ( without the intro of "I wasn't going to sing this song tonight") Which made it very spontaneous..... Hard to believe that after 40 yrs. arlo can still breath new life into that song. It touched my funny bone, just like it had so many yrs. ago.....On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd give it a 12.

My first Arlo show was on Pearl Harbor day 1989. Steve Forbert openned. At that show I signed up for the folksingers mailing list and started getting post cards for the annual Carnegie shows. My first Carnegie gig was 1990 and I haven't missed one since. I found this website about 98 or 99 and saw Arlo was appearing at the Clearwater Festival. There I met my first blunderites Deb and Mark DeNucci and Pat and Bob Salzer. I enjoy the music and love the people so I keep coming back. Since 99 I've averaged 15 to 18 shows a year, so I guess I passed 100 sometime last year. It's good to live in the northeast, close to the church and Arlo usually does a free gig somewhere in New York City each summer.

Wow, someone said 100 times. First time for me was in Concord at the North Bridge at the 200 what? The next time in 79, he couldn't sing, so we heard Joe Cocker instead with a little flap from ADG. Some how I crossed the land a few times and heard him in Santa Rosa CA with my X IN 87, but all ADG did was talk about the clam. It was either John Prime or John Haytt or one or the other THEY all came to see. Then in Boston in the fall of 94 (Which didn't fall enough) ADG walked on stage and the first thing he said was OH, IT hAS BEEN A LONG TIME sINCE any of you have seen me! It must have been Groton MA next. Went to Conn around 96 but htought it best to jsut drive home safely. The cool part of this email is that I did see him out in western MA, then beat him to Olmpia Washington State, but after I saw him north of Seattle in Evererett I think it was, he asked me after the show (And some one else said inbetween things ya have to vote in local elections, while I was just trying to pay the rent upstaires on the pool table.) adg had the gall to ask me how long did it take you to get here, when I told him I had just seen him back east...
Somewhere inhere I did make the shortest visit to the Church, where it all staryted for him. Oh was that a long time from the next time I saw him in 2004 around the 7/4/04 with a very fine brother of mine. I can't count. YOU ALL TELL ME THE NUMBER?

At least 100 times, grew up listening to him, and going to concerts with my aunt during the '70s, I've seen him in Ct. (around '80 or so, can't remember the club, but he sang "I don't want a bunny" (by tom paxton), been told the club is long gone, the only memory I have of the club is the troughs (as in horse type troughs) in the men's room), on the Cape, Iron Horse, dozens of times in the Berkshires in little clubs, every year in Holyoke. Then after growing up in New England, I had to go and move to the Midwest...hoping to catch up with the tour at least a few times this year....

Well I would have to say I saw him about a dozen times.

Luckily I have been blessed to see him at the Keswick in Glenside, PA which he did for several years a week or 2 before Thanksgiving. And I must say it is never a Thanksgiving if you do not hear the story of Alice.

First one was me and a friend. We had such a great time the next year we brought 2 firends. The next year we brought kids and more friends. The next year more kids and more friends. Went from 2 to 12 in 4 years and everyone wanted to go the next year and bring friends but he stopped going to the Keswick for whatever reason.

Then we caught him at the glamorous Kimmel Center in Philly. You would have thought it strange going from the Philly orchestra to Arlo in the same venue but it was perfect.

Because he stopped coming to the Keswick we then took a trip up to the State Theater in Easton, PA to see him the next year.

Caught him at the Philly Folk festival in Scwenksville twice and now I am going to see him in Ithaca New York.

The best show was my first at the Keswick in Glenside,without a doubt. Arlo came on stage with Abe and said the opening act could not make it so he and Abe would take the time if we did not boo them off the stage. What a night. I was hooked from then on.

Thanks to the whole Guthrie family. Been a pleasure to share an evening of music and stories with you and my friends and family.

Hi, PennyAPoint. I go to the Keswick and also Easton every year that he's there. This past May, my son and I went to the Harrisburg show, which was a new venue for me.

He'll be in Lancaster and Philly in April. The Philly show is on my birthday! Aren't I lucky???

I've been an Arlo fan since the "Alice's Restaurant" album came out but had never seen him live until about five years ago. I've been making up for lost time ever since though, going to 27 shows in 10 different cities in 8 different states, as far north as Interlochen, MI, as far west as Niederwald, TX, as far south as Epcot and as far east as The Guthrie Center in MA. I started going to Arlo's concerts after seeing Sarah Lee and Johnny play here in Columbia when they were just starting out as a duo, in fact at the time they both still had full time "day" jobs. During the show they mentioned arlo.net. I had just gotten a computer and didn't really know how to work it (still don't) but as soon as I got home I managed to find and navigate arlo.net, and that's how it all got started.

One can never go to too many Arlo shows...

I started out innocently enough in the early 80's, going to see Arlo once a year, then I graduated to 2 or 3 times, and now, if I don't see him 8-10 times a year, I go through withdrawal. It's like an addiction. I can handle it, though, really, I think. I mean, I didn't go to see him in Newport this year, even though I suppose I could have, and I don't think it made me too crazy......did it?

if they ever come up with a 12 step program for blundering......I don't wanna know about it!

2 times at Lafayette, In. 2 times at The Vogue in Indianapolis In. 2 times at the Guthrie Center. The Guthrie Center concerts are like a pilgrimage. Awsome!

OK. So I left the U.S. in '64 when I was 10, became a fan of adg's when Alice's came out. (Woody's Pacific Northwest songs had been around playing in the background of my childhood, even though I didn't really appreciate him 'til I was in my teens). Got back to Ore in '72/'73 for 6 months but he wasn't in the vicinity. He came here in '98 (I'm pretty sure it was '98. Let me know if I'm wrong adg). Well, I wasn't around so missed him then. Got back to Ore. for a visit in '98 but he wasn't around the area then either.

So I've only seen him once so far, last year in June. But gosh he flew half way 'round the world to get here, and had to deal with runway sniffin' guys and all that sorta stuff. AND after the show I got to sit right next to him while he relaxed with a beer and chatted with a handful of people. So that well and truly made up for the 35 years it took for us to be in the same place at the same time!

The next time I see him will be either at a Fall Revival at The Church or when he does a Blunder DownUnder! I guess it depends which one of us has the time or money to fly half way around the world. I guess it's my turn.

Hey, I just thought of something. Did you ever have an show over there called Dr. Who? (it started in the '60's in England) Well, the Dr. travels all over the known universe saving people from bad aliens. He travels in an old public phone booth called the Tardus....hhmmmmmmm wonder if adg still has that old wooden phone booth in his living room at the farm?
