Quite the site Cap't

Have been reading theannouncment from Arlo that he will be touring in Europe in the summer and fall, and the comments from fans how they are disappointed that he will not be doing concerts at the church. Arlo fans in the UK are delighted that we will be able to see him nearer to our homes, we have had to visit the USA in past years to see Arlo and appreciate how magic the Church concerts are. Not everbody in the USA will have time and finances to come over to Europe but if you can I can assure you you will have a great time our folk festivals have a unique atmosphere and will be all the better for having Arlo on the schedules. Arlo has only toured the UK four or five times in the past 15 years we cant wait to see him on our shores and are looking forward to the Europe schedule being announced. So if you can come on over we look forward to meeting up at Arlos concerts and sharing conversation on all subjects including Arlo experiences.

Now you've lost me. October was wonderful.

A few thoughts, just to get the ideas flowing:

1. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is where Jay and I went for many years until we started going to the Church. The Fall Revival dates always fell on one of the Fiesta weekends. (We used to crew for and ride with a friend; she gave up ballooning about the same time we started going to the Fall Revival, so that worked out well, but we miss the Fiesta a lot.) Think: around a thousand hot-air balloons in the air at one time; shapes balloons, races, and lots of fun. Also great Mexican food and something a little different culturally and geographically. Besides, we can all stay with Terrie, right, Terrie? There would only be a hundred or so of us, more or less.

2. Though the schedule doesn't have any fall Europe dates yet, the Rhythm Festival at Clapham, Bedford, UK, in August might be fun. We could see Beverley and her family (including the no-longer-Baby Arlo). And wouldn't it be a treat for Arlo G. if we all showed up, just when he thought he'd escaped!

3. We have an ever-growing group of Blunderites who attend WoodyFest every year, from all over the country and beyond. So come on down! This requires getting motel reservations ASAP, if you still can; send me a private message if you want to try, and I'll help as best I can. (Accommodations around there are fairly spartan but also VERY CHEAP.) Also they have camping facilities, and an inexpensive camping pass gets you access to the Olympic-size pool and good shower facilities. Ask Wyld about that; she loved camping there. (And note, this would be another opportunity to delight (dismay?) Mr. G. with our combined presence.)

As far-flung as this group is, I'm guessing we can come up with something that works for a lot of us. So, throw your favorite OTHER place/event in the ring and let's see what we can come up with!

And as Reg said, "That doesn't mean forgetting to monitarily support the GC. Who will probably need it even more."

I really wanted to meet you this past Fall Len, but Arlo and his Family came to Storrs, CT the following week. It made no sense for me to come that weekend at the Church. I hope somewhere down the road we will meet at a venue as well as to meet the ones face to face from here in the future.

How about Carnegie Hall have a big feast at a restaurant a couple of hours before Arlo's show. Since there will be no more of his gigs at the Church I am planning on going this year and be more prepared.

Denmark's really nice. Copenhagen is really pretty, and is one of the few cities in the world that understands that what every city needs is a Tivoli. And there's Legoland...and the Leningrad Cowboys play at another Danish festival about a week before Arlo plays at his...

Denmark would be a great place to go to an Arlo concert! Jim and I have been talking about a Scandinavian trip. Haven't planned anything yet...we've our daughter's wedding coming up in September.

Congrats on your daughters wedding. It was nice seeing you tonight. I really enjoyed the show. I figure the dates the concert places picked were probably when he usually has the church shows, so If he was already booked, he couldn't be in 2 places at the same time. I know the folks in Europe are excited. Hopefully folks will get to other shows of his. I suspect since he's doing 3 shows in Va this week, that he won't be back to VA until next yr. This is why we need the Monkees. Something to amuse us till he comes around again lol...

Wow! You and I are definitely on the same page with this one Reg. When I said I've been following Arlo since I was ten, I didn't mean I have been just listening to his music since then. Anyone that has been to just one Arlo show knows what I mean. Of all of my childhood heroes Arlo has endured, held true, and adhered to his values. It's an honor to belong to this website. Arlo has actually responded to things that I have said. There is the feeling of family here. Arlo is the person we can thank for that.

I'm not so sure people need to look elsewhere to meet? What better place than the church? If I know George something will be going on...odds are I won't be there...but I do keep buying lottery tickets...

And now that I have said all this I am going to repeat an earlier post I made:

This year I gave to the Guthrie Center through the company I work for. They match every dollar I give up to $250. It has been coming out of every check I have gotten since January. The GC is supposed to get a check every quarter. I figure they should have one by April at the very latest. I will let you know how it goes.
