Wow, what's this about a "scheduled discussions"? Is this something new he is doing at shows? Just wondering. I have a cousin who lives in San Diego. Never been there before tho...

Arlo still makes himself available to fans after most shows to say hello or get an autograph or photo. As for scheduled discussions or receptions with the artist before or after a show I think these are determined by the venue and are more often then not fund raisers. Don't know how much say Arlo has in these. of course I imagine he could always say No!

I was randomly reading posts in different forums to get a feel of the board, and where I might fit in.
If/when I come across it again, I will be sure to remember to bring it to your attention.

They tried the idea at the Spring Revival at the Guthrie Center. I think it was wine and cheese before the show and front of the line to visit with Arlo after the show but nobody was turned away.

I remember that. It was no discussion with Arlo but instead a discussion about him, Woody & folk music hosted by some local folksinger guy whose name I forget. We talked to him & he seemd like a nice guy who liked Arlo & Woody. It was interesting tho...

That discussion was with a guy who went by the name of "Mystr Tree Frog".
He had a free CD that I picked up...it's a home made one, and it's copyrighted by a J. Brayton.
The CD was ok...not what I'd choose to listen to...there's a lot of drum machine in there. It's gonna get recycled next time there's a party at Folk Club; they'll take unwanted CD's and give 'em out as door prizes at the party.

I think the purpose for the discussion wasn't so much to discuss Arlo and his music but to try to create an audience for his own stuff. He had a lot to say about himself, his life, his music and being raised in a commune; not so much about anything Guthrie.
