The New York Daily News Monday Dec. 11, 2006 on page 24 has a story about the death of the Chilean Dictator Pinochet.
The article includes a photo and a brief reference to the Chilean folk singer Victor Jara who was one "of the thousands of Chileans whose deaths are blamed on the Pinochet regime."
Although it wasn't mentioned in the article Arlo's song "Victor Jara" on the "Amigo" album is a powerful tribute to the man and his memory.

Pinochet's death gave me a difficult ethical dilemma ... To rejoice or not to rejoice at the death of another human being. It's a hard question in this case.

Tough choice fellow blunderite. I saw the headline last night on yahoo. It is a real tough one to pick. I hate to even think about who may still be around here in this land who has blood on their hands.
