They have to contact agents etc. We don't go looking for gigs, we just show up if they invite us :)

I dunno arlo... based on that answer, I'm curious as to how you've avoided the "Living Room Tour"!

An invite doesn't mean we have to go :)

Some invites mean you have to go, like, many years ago I got an "invitation" from Uncle Sam to visit an Asian nation, all expenses paid. Tried to be selectively oblivious about it, but found myself learning Korean and spending the better part of 13 months "advising" the Korean Air Force Communications School.

mikey

I dunno mikey. if we knew each other way back then, I could have instructed you in the ways of selective obliviousity.........or, you just could have taken up littering.

AT least in those days, unless you know otherwise, it was all expenses paid. I've seen in recent news reports that there are soldiers coming back from Iraq that the army is billing for equipment that the soldiers lost while on tour. I can hear it now...." Private, don't worry about the gunfire and that roadside bomb, you better go over there and get that jacket you dropped after the expolsion, or you are gunna have to pay for it"! :x

Mike got one of those invites from Uncle Sam. How he turned it down was pretty creaitve. He flunked school. So he graduted in 1972 instead of 1969 lol...
