OK, I'm probably supposed to know this, but can anyone tell me what ADG's connection is or was to this place, if any? Maybe the folkslinger can weigh in to dispel or confirm a rumor I heard that he once owned or still owns this place, which is named after his dad.

arlo, i think there is a connection, however small. way back in 1988? my dad ran a veterans center and had a benefit concert there, and abe's band played, was he in shenandoah then? i actually still have the tshirt, just can't find it. i'd love to post a few pics.

i still drive down rt. 8 by there occasionally, is it washington or becket? as far as i know that place has been closed for many years. too bad, it was a great place! arlo, you should think about fixin' it up and having bands there again. and then write a song about it!

boy, the trips we had at woody's back in the '80s. talk about your flashbacks now. had alot of fun there back then , ah, the memories. it's been almost 20 years since i've thought 'bout the place, where does the time go.

I thought about buying it decades ago, they didn't want to sell it, not for anything near what it was actually worth. The place used to be a great ballroom and I played there many times with various bands over the years. Lots of fun - but a death trap these days - another great building left for too long.

When on my way home back to New Hampshire from NY on business every once in a great while I hop onto RT8 rather than take the mass pike and I have seen the place many times. I often wondered myself if Arlo had any ties to the place. It does look like a bit of a death trap now but I imagine it must have been quite the place in its time. Oh..and that freakin' cop has stopped me several times over there in Becket too.I wasn't goin that much over. If I remember right he liked to wait at the bottom of this hill and the speed limit is 35MPH and if you aren't slowing yourself down and let gravity do its thing he will get you. He didn't buy my gravity excuse but let me off any way. I think I was going 45 or 50.

Seen him and his family in concert @ Grants Pass, OR last evening...the concert lifted my spirits and made me feel fortunate to be alive. Seeing him and his family perform made me reflect about my own extended family, though separated for many reasons, want to try and extend some effort to mend old wounds that really don't amount to much by reflecting on what caused the rift. In reality small matters can cause conflict, and forgiveness by both parties can mend and bind families again.
