Just wondering what the next tour will be called and be about since the solo tour is over. I'll see you again in Newberry SC in February 08.

You'll be seeing the solo tour; it just began this summer. It should be wonderful at Newberry--I can't think of a better setting for Arlo's solo gig.

Welcome to the site. I went to Newberry once a few yrs back & it was fun. You're gonna have a great time. Can't make it there as he's doing 4 nites of shows here in VA so plenty of chances to see him here. Have fun at the shows...

Ok guys, now I'm confused. But then again that is not unusual these days. The website says the solo tour ended in 07. Did someone,(Dave??) get the dates wrong? I went to Newberry last year and it was the legacy tour. So that seems to mean the solo tour is going on now. But the info on Arlonet said otherwise. I was just wondering (blundering). I look forward to seeing Arlo again but I will also miss everyone that I have seen in the past shows.

No matter what the next ones called, it's still Arlo, and we're still gunna be there! Unless of course the next tour is something like "The Arlo Guthrie with K.C.and the Sunshine Band Tour"...........then I may have to stay home.

Thanks for the info. Even if KC was the opening act for an Arlo show, I'm sure Larry would be there lol. Except blunderites would be in the bathroom for the opening act instead of Alices lol...

...Yah, you'll miss them until you're seeing the show. And after it, you'll be so GLAD you saw Arlo "together again" on the solo tour, and then you'll be happy to know that probably sometime in the not-too-distant future, you'll see the others again. It's all good. Promise.

Please, help us spread the word about this concert. We are so excited about having Arlo here in our little chapel.
We are a not-for-profit group that saved a little brick cemetery chapel that the city was going to tear down. It has been restored and is a superb place to have concerts.
We'll only have around 130 people in there, and there are no bad seats. The acoustics are so nice... plus, we will have sound man Bob Heil to help us out with our house sound for this, so the sound should be exquisite!

We have no bar, so no bar noise. We still have some tickets available now. We'll serve refreshments at intermission, but that will be for donations -- we are non-commercial, non-denominational -- we aren't a church, just a nice group with a nice little place.

We aren't doing this to make a lot of money, just to bring a super concert here. And what money we do make in profit will be to fund our little venue and further our concert efforts. We try to have free concerts when we can, but we also want to have some money to pay artists.
We don't have money for advertising, so we need help reaching Arlo fans... we've sold a lot of the tickets already, but we still have some available.

I can tell by the website that the Chapel is very excited to have such a performer as Arlo appearing. But at $100 a pop, I can understand why the venue, even with only 130 excellent seats, is still not sold out.
I won't even do a Broadway show for full price, regardless of the seating I always look for the discounts. Personally, I think you charge less to get them in the door, then charge what the traffic will bear to feed 'em!

yeah, you are probably right about selling food. we are just a group of volunteers, though. not promoters.

it's so much fun talking to the fans who contact us, though. they are so happy and so excited, and I'm looking forward to meeting them almost as much as the concert.
Our tickets are cheaper by comparison to other venues, though, that are even set to profit from drinks and food and other stuff. And that is just comparing ticket prices. Plus they profit from selling other stuff.

But, they are in it for a living. we're just in it for the love of it. we are amateurs.
Not that there's anything wrong with being in it for a living. thank goodness people do!

We may be shouldn't have jumped into such a big venture, but i just sold a couple more tickets. If anybody is interested, I hope they get tickets before it is too late.

We are very, very close to selling out the October 14th chapel concert.
