I just wanted to thank Arlo for returning to Toronto and giving us such a great concert tonight. It was a wonderful evening. One of the few things I miss about living here now is not geting to see Arlo more often and not seeing everyone. It's a strange feeling not knowing anyone in the audience.

I was really disappointed not to get a chance to say hi to Arlo tonight, but a very rude woman chased everyone who was waiting away (she came over to us and said "I'm not bringing him out until you leave" - made me feel terrible). I sure hope she works for Massey Hall and not Arlo. It put a damper on an otherwise wonderful evening.

Other than that, though, it was a very special night - Thanks, Arlo.

Hey, Caryn, nice to see you here! How's life in Canada? Glad you enjoyed the show, but sorry you didn't get to say hi to the man himself.

I saw Arlo in TO too. It was my first time seeing him; I never knew he even toured anymore until last year! Anyway-I'm a young'n I suppose, because I was introduced to him in the ninties when I was in high school. I was so impressed by the concert and left it feeling elated! I've seen some of the other biggies play before (Dylan, Leonard Cohen...) and what a difference! All are great-but Arlo is the first 'personable' musician I've ever watched. I grew up in a somewhat musical family-my dad used to play in bars 7 nights a week, and finally stopped playing altogether last year after over 30 years. He introduced me to the music of the 60's, the greatness of record players, and gave me a creative environment to grow up in. My uncle used to play the banjo-(my family are down-homers from the east coast), and my cousin now plays music with her husband locally every week. Anyway-watching Arlo made me feel really 'homey,' and inspired to keep being who I am, and to continue on supporting musicians and artists hoping to globally bring people closer.

I'm definately going to watch Arlo again if he comes around!

I'm betting the rude woman worked for the concert place & not Arlo. At some of those places sometimes you'll come across ruderl people working there. Hopefully Arlo being there & seeing him will make them happier & sweeter people after seeing him. How could they not leave a show without feeling the love...

Caryn, I,m glad you enjoyed the show That,s what it is really all about.We in Ottawa and as you have in Toronto have been fortunate to have Arlo return in recent years.There could be many reasons why this happened,it could have been the folkslingers wishes or the venues.
It,s hard to dissapoint and not sound harsh and maybe it could have been worded better,but remember it was all about the show.
I,ve seen Arlo here and in area several times and have seen him spend lots of time with folks after the show and have also seen him pack up and go in a flash as well.It could be how he feels or scheduling and even the weather.I spoke to him briefly after the show here last night as he was heading for the bus,it was cold here,he had mentioned during the gig his throat was a little off(but he sounded great to met?!?!) with the cold here I couldnt blame him for wanting to get on the bus.I imagine the changes in climates can wreak havoc on the ole voicebox,from here he is off to Kentucky,LOL I imagine a lil warmer and dryer then here and quite the change.
Again I,m glad you enjoyed the gig and remember thats why you were there and did enjoy it.I,m having to look at it that way myself as I had a few events before the show,then even had a problem person seated in my area at the gig for the first set that put a damper on things,I went alone,without my show buddy from other recent shows,whom I missed.Today is a new day,I,m grateful for seeing the gig,Arlo opened with Chilling of the Evening and the rest of the show was great.
I got to see and hear Arlo once again:)....and by himself,nothing against Gordon or Abe or the rest of the family but it was diffreent,I did enjoy the show and although some other the other stuff of my day did throw me off,I,ll forget about it soon enough,I won,t forget the show though.
I hope next time you can say hello and meet and greet with the folkslinger,peace
