For those who don't know, Ed Hillary & his companion Sherpa Tenzing Norgay were the first men to climb Mt Everest in 1953. Ed Hillary died last week aged 88, & a State funeral was held today for him in Auckland, New Zealand. Tonight there was a wonderful TV documentary on his life; it concluded with footage of him in his twilight years singing one of his favourite tunes - 'Red River Valley'. So well done Arlo; you would have been hard pressed to have found a more monumental man to sing one of your songs.
