I pulled out some old vinyl and listed to the first Arlo / Pete album for the first time in years. The magic is still there.

I was also taken with Arlo's "Presidential Rag" which was written and performed in the shadow of the Nixon Watergate debacle but, a lot of the points made back then in that context have new meaning given our present situation with the current "lost president".

I remember one tour where Arlo quipped he wasn't going to do Alice anymore but, Ronald Reagan (the current president at that time in the early 1980's) was thinking about resurrecting the draft even though he campaigned against it. So, since Reagan had changed his mind, so did Arlo and what followed was an updated Alice...

How about a subtle message to our current executive branch because clearly they don't get it... All that's old is new again...

Actually both the legislative and executive branches both don't get it.

The two are very disconnected from the taxpayers.

Whether Obama or McCain wins; its a force to throw the power brokers of the last 30 years out.
