First of all, Just saw Arlo for the first time live last night and it was such a fun show. I laughed and sang and left feeling uplifted but reminded of so much as well.

Several years ago, Arlo did a show on PBS with numerous special guest, including Pete Seeger, Jerry Jeff Walker, Bonnie Raitt ( about 2-3 years before she had her huge success with Nick of Time)

It was such a great show, and we were lucky enough to record it on VHS and also had a cassette tape recording of it ( remember those?)

But the tapes are long gone now and I haven't been able to find this show anywhere else. If anyone has it/ or knows where it can be purchased, please let me know.

And Arlo, if you read these posts, Thanks for a great evening. We were sitting among a range of ages from about 15 - 75, and everyone around us felt the vibe, had a great time and had their consciousness raised just a bit again. Thanks

Welcome to the site, Laurelsdreaming:) I was at the show in Bloomington on Friday night and let me tell you ... Arlo was at the top of his game! He has been playing around the mid-west this year and I've been lucky to see him several times. He's always been good - but I don't know where the energy came from this time. The venue, the tech, the guitars. It ALL came together Friday night! How bout that beautiful new blue guitar!!!

I have the tape you are referring to. Done in Austin Texas in 1987. Pete Seeger, Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Jeff Walker and David Bromberg. Wouldn't it be great if Rising Son would rerelease it? It's a treasure! Keep an eye on e-bay. Every now and then 'vintage' things pop up. But, sorry...mine won't be one of them.

Yes, I would love it if Rising Son released that.

In the meantime, if anyone has a copy, or is tech savvy enough to put something on youtube, I am particularly interested in Arlo's intro and performance of "Inch by Inch, Row by Row" and also Bonnie Raitt's wonderful cover of the John Prine Classic, Angel From Montgomery. I have her doing a cover on a studio album, but it is just not as good as this live version was.

so, AG, if you ever read these, see if you can get this show on DVD. I know there would be several buyers out here!!

And also, I have spoken to several people who were at that Bloomington show, and we all loved it.

I'm wondering who really owns the show. PBS or RisingSon. I'll ask my tecki son if he know how to transfer it to YouTube. I've been wanting to get one of those gadgets to transfer my family video camera tapes to the computer anyway But, what about copyright, etc? Somehow there has got to be a way. Appeal to PBS, perhaps. Son is off digging in Mayan ruins in Belize and won't be back for 6 weeks - so don't hold your breath. But, it's on my 'to-do' list, at least.

thanks!!

I actually did appeal to PBS about this several years ago when my cassette tape copy of it died. I looked for it again on their site a year or two ago and still not there.

Maybe if several people from here and others would make the same request, it would have a bigger impact.

In the meantime, I can wait 6 weeks, no problem. Thanks for the offer. Hopefully your son is having an amazing experience in Belize.
