Hi,

I'm new around here, but I wanted to share something with you.

I got the movie Alice's Restaurant about a year ago, I had never heard of it but my dad said I needed to watch it because it was a classic. I got it and put it in the DVD player and watched it. I loved the movie the first time I saw it and it became my favourite movie immediatly. I later got the album on vinyl after hunting for it for ages.

Over the summer we went out to Conneticut for a family reunion. Needless to say, I wanted to visit the Guthrie Center. So for my 15th birthday I went with my brother, dad, and my cousin to the Guthrie Center. I didn't really know what to expect when we got there. I figured it'd be a big empty building since I hadn't really checked into what it was all about. I knew it was a spiritual center though.

When we arrived we were greeted by wonderful people. We got lunch, and they told us to make ourselves at home. Upstairs was an art show, it was done with metal and it was simply amazing. Most of the people had left and when we went back downstairs there was a guy there named George. He talked to us for about 45 minutes, and told stories that were so interesting. I mentioned in brief problems I'd had in my small town about my being a little bit different than most 15 year old girls, and he told me something that still sticks with me. He just told me not to worry and keep doing what I was doing because that's what matters.

Overall, my visit there was wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better visit, or better people to talk to. They were so caring, nice and lovely people. I didn't want to leave.

I like to see it the other way around.... it's not that I'm different from all of them, it's that *they're* different than *me*! 8)

I'm sorry I missed chat last night. BTW great story Alicia. As for me I have not been doing well lately. Whenever I can I will come back and post probably not for a while. Lately I feel I have been excluded from here. I'm sorry

Peace,
Lorie

Hello Alicia

That really is a wonderful story! I hope to see the center myself someday. I wonder if it was Mrs. G's brother's work you saw? His name is Robert Allen Hyde.
Awesome artist! :D

Lorie, I hope your back and feeling tippity-toppity soon. I enjoy your wit so much! I always see people responding to your posts and they even bring Arlo in sometimes! :D Just know that I miss you when your not around. :|

I think we could both use a good shot of Vitameatavegamin to start Autumn off and get us though until ThanksForArloGiving 8)

Thanks Steph, what wit? I have none. I do not know when I will be back posting nor if I will be able to go to the Church next month. It's hard to tell right now. I do not think therapy is helping me nor my meds ever since I went back to work two weeks ago. I don't know what to do now :(

Hi Lorie, hope you are feeling better. I like your posts, always enjoy reading them. And even though you might not feel like going to the church, you still should get up and go. It will probably make you feel better. Try it.
Love and Peace
Brigitte
