Just watched Mountain Stage on Public Television. It was absolutely wonderful!

When my daughter was in high school playing violin in the orchestra she decided to quit and take other subjects. I told her that was OK, because now she knew how to play an instrument, and would always have that to sit down with alone or with others whenever she wanted.

Arlo told the story of his first guitar on the program, got it from his dad on his 5th birthday. Woody explained to Arlo's mom that if you give a kid an instrument, they will always have a friend. That's what I was explaining to my daughter, and now I have a whole new idea on gifts for the grandkids...

I can't define love, but I KNOW it when I feel it......perhaps it's different for everybody? I sometimes wonder if the world might not be better off with less "true" love, and more common courtesy......?

Well if you read this material , you will know all about psychoneuroendriconology. I typically would hesitate to write here about this because it is so clinical, but it seemed you were asking for a definition of love, so i thought I would share.

I appreciate your sharing. I wasn't trying to make light of it, I was just trying to point out that concepts such as love, by nature, seem to resist and deny clinical definitions. I am in the field of social work, and deal a lot with problems that arise when clinical definitions conflict with and/or restrict the process of understanding individually unique situations. I do find it fascinating though.
