They oughta invite you hon! You went to the Carter one so you deserve to go to another one. And you would liven up the party! :)

I'd be really excited if you did happen to go.....imagine what you might find! At Jimmy Carter's inauguration you discovered what Nixon had been listening to (18 minutes' and 20 seconds worth).....I'd love to find out what's in W's record collection!!!

I was wondering Arlo if you still have that suit and shoes that match? Because that is the best way to liven up Obama huh?

Wow, cool old pic. Thanks so much for sharing.

Arlo, if an invitation is doubtful, the question becomes would you go if invited?

We could all lobby to have you two represent the old guard of change, so to speak.

My family moved to the DC area in 1972 from New Jersey and I remember seeing Pete perform at the 1973 counter-inaugural activities (don't remember seeing Arlo, but I don't remember all that much from that day except seeing Pete perform and then seeing him walking around the Mall with his banjo), so it would be very cool to see Pete as an invited guest. I would think that if Pete wanted to be invited he ought to be able to call up a certain current NJ resident who shall remain nameless because I have read some of the things said about him here. :) And I would think Pete could get an invitation for someone else, if the someone else were interested.

Maybe all pie in the sky, but ... in 1993, the only other time I've bothered going down to the Mall for Inaugural activities, the Clintons held a "Reunion on the Mall" which was open to everyone -- there were tents set up all over the Mall with music (and food!) from all over the country. It was free, it went on all day, and there were some great acts (not the huge names like Fleetwood Mac -- I remember seeing Little Feat, Toad the Wet Sprocket, the Neville Brothers -- but nobody lame either and the concerts on the Mall were, to me, much more enjoyable). Whatever other Clintonian stuff I'd rather not see Obama emulate, I'd love to see Obama have something going like that -- it would be in keeping with his "we're all in this together" theme and it really was a celebration. And would love to see Pete, Arlo, and many others down there (and if I were Obama, I'd love to have Arlo do "Patriot's Dream" as part of my inauguration -- it seems to me that it embodies what Obama says he stands for).

Nice pic of Arlo & Jackie! :) I remember seeing on a cable channel some yrs ago a show where they had Clinton on there talking about his record collection & what music he liked. He seemed like a pretty cool guy music wise. I remember he held up a copy of the Alice's album that he ah d & said it was a good one. Best thing Clinton ever did lol...
