Perhaps someone here can help me out with a question.

I've been looking for years for the source of a particular
Arlo Guthrie recording. Twenty plus years ago I heard a recording of Arlo performing an electric version of "Alice's Restaurant." Probably only
ran about two minutes or so. It was just the song, not the Entire
Massacree.

Anybody have any idea of what the source of that might have been? I heard it on a radio station in the Monterrey, California area. I've searched the web but have not come up with an answer.

Thanks.
Rob

There was a version of "Rockin' Alice's Restaurant" that occasionally shows up on 70's compilations...that''s how I got a copy of it.

Thanks. Now I have something to go on to try an additional search for a copy.

Yep, I think I have that somewhere around here on album a compilation. I think I have a 45 of it too somewhere. It's not played as much as the version we're all familiar with tho...

Thanks everyone for your help. I managed to get a copy of the original single from someone in the Netherlands. (I'm in upstate NY.) I also managed to get a copy of the compilation CD that contains the song.

Glad you were able to find a copy. It's a good one but not funny like the original...
