What WAS the name of the restaurant?

I'd have to check on this, but it seems like it was something like "(Alice's) Back Door Cafe, or Eatery, or some such thing.

It was called the "Back Room Rest" and was quite a ways from the church, maybe 5-6 miles.

Google "The Guild". The first generation of true genius storytellers are on the web now. Storytelling in the new generation is in very good hands. Of its time. Of its culture. Of its own voice. Beautiful.

And then follow Felicia Day to Dr. Horrible (http://www.drhorrible.com), where she has a beautiful duet with Doogie Howser (Neil Patrick Harris) at the beginning of Act II. Actually, it's not really a duet, I guess, technically...they sing different words at the same time. But it's lovely, and puts a sympathetic face on both the pessimists and optimists of the world at the same time.

H'mmm...seem to have gone a bit off-topic here...well, fwiw, I did send an email to the Dr. Horrible team awhile back, telling them that while I love Dr. H, I also think of it, in some ways, as a descendant of "Alice's Restaurant". "Dr. H" chronicles Dr. H's attempts to get into the "Evil League of Evil" and the "Dr. H" DVD's release was accompanied by an internet-wide contest for additional applicants to the ELE. (Mind you, "evil" here is a word without a lot of meaning -- it's a matter of perspective.) The short "Kill! Kill Kill!" scene in "Alice" could be seen as an application of another underdog's struggle against the established order (not to mention the whole dumping the garbage scenes). Also, both "Dr. H" and "Alice" end with similar unsettling shots of the title character looking into the camera.

Could just be my imagination...but just getting us back on track...
