Any disabled vets out there? I was with 3rd AD 122nd Spt BN Fliegerhorst Kaserne, West Germany 1986-88. Became disabled shortly after coming stateside to Ft Drum, NY. Now I ride my Harley & play with my grandkids.

I'm an "abled" vet, having given them 4+ years (1964-1968 in the AF). Thanks for your service; any VA horror stories for us?

I got out of the Army & joined the Disabled American Vets (DAV), became a service officer for my local chapter & try to help other vets apply for benefits that they don't know about or are too sick to apply for on their own. I wanted 20+ yrs in the Army but life doesn't always give you what you want (there's a song in there, ADG!). You just have to try to do God's work in whatever way it presents itself. I'm just glad to be on my feet again. I ride my Harley when I feel up to it & when I don't I have to lay back & hope for better days. It is a site more than some vets have. What about you, comrad?

My only connection now is that I give to Paralyzed Veterans of America (only charity I give to). In my day, it was either get drafted, go to Canada, or join up; I did the latter. Got out as a Reserve Captain; never wanted it as a career.
