I'm sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, but it doesn't seem to fit anywhere real well.

Does Arlo ever play children's shows, and is there support for this?

We have a 6, 4, and 1 year old. The older two love Arlo's songs, and the youngest will sing them as soon as he is able (he seems to currently enjoy the music but is not vocally competent at the moment).

The kids love the obvious songs like Grocery Blues and City of New Orleans (what kid doesn't love trains?), but they seem to like about anything Arlo plays. Also, if you have kids you definitely need to get Woody's 20 Grow Big Songs. This may be the best album ever for children and their parents. Some of the available discs from the Smithsonian Folkways collection featuring Pete Seeger and others are also outstanding.

My wife and I have seen Arlo and his family perform at least four times, but the times always seem a bit late for little ones. Any chance of a special set list and start time for the younger and those younger at heart?

Welcome Eric! I can't answer your question, but if you search youtube for "jguth3", you will find hours and hours of great Arlo songs and stories, many of which your children will love. Check it out when you get the chance......Peace, Kevin

Welcome to the site. He does a few kid related songs in his shows sometimes but no all the time. Like Al The Goose & Mooses Come Walking. He seems to do something for everyone at his shows...

I have been on YouTube, and the festivals are a good idea as well.

My kids have "Mooses Come Walking" and my wife and I have seen Arlo recite it live as well - it is a treat. I can't believe some comments I have seen (not on this site) that say it is too scary for kids. Give me a break - the kids love it! They don't wake up screaming after I read it to them.

I think they are all human friendly shows.....and kids are human.....most of the time.

Two very good child-oriented groups. Try to catch them live, but if you can't, get their CDs and videos; I think that you and your children will like them a lot.

(We're way past the point of ever having kids but we enjoy them, and our friends who have children and grandchildren--and their kids and grandkids--love them, too.)
