I was attendin' a meetin' the other day with a dealership outside of Boston, we was sittin' there in an office off the lobby, not too far off the lobby, but off the lobby non the less and I was listenin' to my boys talkin' to their boys about office equipment stuff and out there in the lobby not too far from where I was a sittin' there sat a lady, older lady, pretty sure she was the office receptionist she was talkin' to people and listening to music from her radio......now I'm just sittin' there, I mean I was just sittin' there mindin' my own business, not botherin' anybody at the meetin there and all of a sudden I hear somethin' in the upper left corner of my left ear, I'm pretty sure it was the upper left corner of my left ear but I'm pretty damn sure it was my left ear, well anyway....... I hear.somethin' strangely familiar but strange non the less.....so I listen a little closer, then a little closer and even closer and all of a sudden it hit me........there comin' from the radio out there in the lobby not far from where I was a sittin' a sound that chilled me right to the bone.....it was.............without any 3 part harmony ...without any 8x10 color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back .......I hear an elevator muzak version of ...you guessed it Alice's Restaurant and I thought to myself HOLY CRAP ARLO you sure have hit the big times NOW........

Welcome to the site. I had no idea that song was done as elevator music. I HATE elevator music. As a teenager my folks would play that crap in the car until I could just barf and scream lol. I'd have to plead to please put on the rock and roll. Oh well maybe this will make my mom like Arlo even better lol...

I remember hearing a Queen tune done up as muzak - what a wacky world eh?

I thought I had heard a musical version of Alice down at a Casino in Mississippi. But I didn't get to hear the whole thing.
