Not sure if this is the correct forum to pose this question, but I will anyways...Because I like Arlo's instrumental "Week on the rag" so much I have been trying to transcribe it so that I can play it on the mandolin. I couldn't find the sheet music for it so I have been attempting to transcribe it by ear. I assure you that it has not been an easy task and I am no exper on the mandolin either. But never the less I am giving it a go. Not wanting to reinvent the wheel I was wondering if anyone else knows or has tried to do the same or could direct me to where I could find a copy I would sincerely appreciate it. Pulling whats left of my hair out but will keep at it. Thanks.

I have lots of copies of Arlo concerts. If you know a date or tour it was played on, I'll look and see if I have it...if you'll give me a copy of the transcription. Working on the mandolin myself.

Goofus, I first heard Arlo play "Week on the rag" when Arlo performed the instrumental with the Boston Pop's. After hearing it for the first time I went about trying to find out if Arlo had recorded it but it seems that he hasn't. However, Mrs G, the marvelous woman that she is, and I am not kissing up here :) , has posted the instrumental on Youtube. So I go onto Youtube and listen to it and attempt to work it out that way. I got to say every attempt I have made thus far has hit the round file. I'll figure it out sooner or later and when I do I will try to remember to email you a copy. I would just like to see if I can play it on mandolin anad hear how it sounds. You know I was just thinking....wouldn't it be nice to have the tune on a 78. It would be so much easier to figure it out that way..

Did anyone ever workout Week On The Rag? I have been looking for the sheet music for years. I know these posts are dated but I thought I might take a chance. I am looking for piano but will take anything. My e-mail is jimblincoe@juno.com. Thank you so much.
