Congrats! I don't know about 41, but at 50 I'm pretty sure you are eligable for parole.....or Mrs. G is. I don't really know, I'm not a lawyer. :D

Cong rats? Didn't we fight those guys in SE Asia?

Capricorn saturnian to my toes: divorced men are eight times more likely than divorced women to commit suicide.

The after age 50 divorce experience for men is wampum times worse for men and women file for divorce far more often than men.

Let's face it; we said for 'better or worse' in our own best interests. No matter how well it's sold, we are not bonobos. We want to be.

BUT: we are stealthy. :D

I'm just being a smartass amateur comedian, and you're showing me statistics? :D Maybe we should form a team and take this show on the road?

And now that we have hijacked this thread, once again:

Happy 41st Arlo and Jackie! :D

I'm a Capricorn, dude. Dark side. Can't help it. My folks screwed in May and here I am. Born in the darkest part of the year; can't stand being cold. :)

I'm just trying to keep ya from leading him into losing the farm. Where would he rehearse? Then what would we do when every tour was just like the last one? It's an Ayn Randian thing for me to do: the virtue of selfishness.

Just wait Larry. You'll lose your grip on that brain cell one day.

Don't encourage them to split up, Larry. Where would we go for Arlo's You Tube videos?

Before I put this out, just let me say that it is......an interesting cultural....nuance, that in Spanish, the word for wife, "esposa," is also the same word used for "handcuffs." Kinda building on Larry's parole theme. And it is my experience, and I'm pretty sure Arlo's too, that being handcuffed to the one you love is not a bad thing. Also, I know that Larry's Brain Cell will not be able to resist commenting on this bit of cultural trivia

Anyway, Happy Anniversary to the Guthries. May Peace and Happiness follow you always!!!

P.S. - I just got back from the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee Arlo, and John McCutcheon and Bill Miller asked me to say hello to you. They did an out-a-sight version of "All Along The Watchtower," with John playing the hammer dulcimer. After the show we were sittin' around and I told him that I had seen you play it on the uke, and he said, "Tell him to bring it down next year and jam with him, if you still 'remembered' how to play it" :P

Well, happy anniversary from me, too, though personally I've always liked Dustin Hoffman's line about how the only reason marriage used to last a lifetime is that everybody died young....

I dunno Kevin, I can't think of anything really smartass-ish to say about your handcuff/esposa thing. So, I'll just note that some handcuffs are of iron, and others of velvet.

How could Arlo forget how to play a 3 chord song on a Uke? :D
