then give "Famous for Killin' Each Other" by Kevin Costner (yes, you read that correctly) and the Modern West a listen. Lot's of long instrumentals with dobros and other bluegrass instruments, but it's not the typical "Twang along with Bubba" bluegrass.

He says the album was inspired by the "Hatfields and McCoys" mini-series. He's actually not a bad singer.

It sorta kinda 'pert near reminds me of Gretchen Peters' music. It has that dark bluesy feel but it's not really blues, it's not really folk, and it's not really bluegrass. Could be Red Dirt I suppose.
