OK, I posed this question elsewhere, but haven't gotten any responses yet. I just found out that Arlo has a brother, Joady, who lives in California. I knew about his sister, Nora, who he has mentioned from time to time, but I don't believe he's ever mentioned Joady.

Do they not get along or something? Maybe a family, low-profile kind of thing? Inquiring minds want to know.

He was at an Arlo show once. I think it was the Woody stamp show. I saw him from a distance getting into a van or something. Never did get to meet him. Recently, I somehow came across him on Facebook one day and noticed that Arlo was not among his Facebook friends. Maybe he just keep a low profile. :)

Yeah, I get the "low profile" thing. Just seems odd to me that the folkslinger never mentions him. Thanks.

Joady is my kid brother (between me and my sister) and he doesn't appreciate the notoriety so much, altho of late he has done some interviews because of the 100th WWG birthday. I keep him out of the public eye as a matter of respect to his wishes. We are a close family but distance does make a difference. So, I won't go in to his story here except to say he's coming to some of the gigs coming up and you probably won't know he's there. He does post lots of thoughts on health care and whatever political thoughts he has (he has a lot of them - like everyone in the family). He shares his thoughts daily with his friends and family. He's also a very talented guy and has a grown son who we adore. We'll spend some time together coming up over the holidays and whenever i get to the left coast... :)

Thanks g for sharing so much with us. I can't imagine what it's like having so many people interested in everything in your life. I don't know if i'd be so generous. I would tell people none of your business in the nicest way possible. :)

Thanks for that, Arlo, and I hope I didn't come across as a "busybody." From what I've read about Joady, he seems like he's got it all together.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Polk Theatre in Lakeland in 2-1/2 months. Wishing you and yours a most happy holiday (and Carnegie) season in the meantime!

Cool! Thanks for posting Arlo! I figured he was the type that was staying out of the spotlight, quietly watching in the shadows. :)

Yeah, well: as you may have noticed, kindness and generosity seem to run in the Guthrie family. Rumor has it, Arlo slipped back around for a double dose when getting his share of the gene pool.

Saw YOUR sad news too, Cheryl. Been laying low for a long time, so don't even know if you remember me at all, but want you to know that a prayer is being said for you and for Mike down here in Memphis.

Thanks so much! We remember you and hope you are doing well. Welcome back. It's been so hard losing Mike but I am trying to hang in there day by day. I can relate to Arlo losing Jackie cuz of losing my Mike. Hugs to all. :)
