After Arlo's successful and much welcomed visit to Ireland and following President Abe Lincoln's (Daniel Day Lewis) Premiere visit to Dublin.
Last night I just happened to be listening to Arlo's beautiful rendition of "Shenandoah" when a light switch went on in them old grey cells. I remembered someone years ago mentioning about some Native Americans who reached out to the Irish "White-man" starving in Ireland.

"In1847, midway through the Great Irish Famine (1845 - 1849) a group of Native American Choctaws collected $710 and sent it to help starving Irish men, women and children. "It had been just 16 years since the Choctaw people had experienced the Trail of Tears and they faced starvation...It was an amazing gesture." According to Judy Allen, editor of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma's Newspaper, Bishinik, based at the Oklahoma Choctaw tribal headquarters in Durant, Oklahoma.
To mark the 150 anniversary, eight Irish people retraced the 'Trail of Tears' and the donation was publicly commemorated by President Mary Robinson." (source: Wikipedia)

Arlo ("America's Native Son") has a way of getting into one's skin that does all sorts of strange things. So I was wondering if Arlo and family would help raise the spirit of the Irish Nation, a people who have been betrayed by our 'Pillars of Society' Banks, Government and Church, and who need some 'Guthrie" succour to eat.

A new Arlo song for Ireland with perhaps, the proceeds going to those folks (many of Irish decent) affected by last years storms in NY etc. Perhaps a new song for all those in Ireland and beyond who need to reclaim their faith in their fellow woman and man?

This ain't a begging bowl for Ireland, not when our Taoiseach (Prime Minister) receives a salary more than the President of the most powerful country in the World and the British PM. (Anyway our government has already stuck out the begging bowl to America etc)

See what Arlo started folks. Them Guthries have a lot to answer for and hopefully this 'shit' will make some love flowers grow? Maybe Arlo already has a new song for Ireland, maybe he hasn't but I'm just walking my own lines in the hope they get crossed!
