In one of the Byrds of Paradise episodes, Arlo sings a song with a Hawaiian group. Does anyone know the name of the group, the name of the song, and where I can get a copy?

I was hoping Arlo would do a whole album of Hawaiian folk songs. His voice really fit well into that style, with those instruments.

The only song on Byrds that Arlo performed with a group was "Waimanalo Blues." I don't believe that that particular assemblage of musicians was a formal group. The song is available on Arlo's Power of Love album, but not with the same musicians you saw on the show.

I believe he also did Moon Song on one of the last eps of Byrds. If I'm wrong someone will correct me I know...

That's correct, but that was not with a full band. That was just Arlo & the guitarist Cyril whose last name I'm not even gonna attempt to spell. Only "Waimanalo Blues" was with a band of several musicians, unless you also count a brief "rap" performance of "Subterrean Homesick Blues" with Harry's band. Other songs Arlo performed on the show include "Red River Valley," "I Can't Help Falling in Love," & "3 Blind Mice."

I believe Cyril's last name is spelled Pahinui, 'cos that's what it is.

I have all the eps on tape too. But I would love to see them released on dvd one day...

I was lucky enough to share the stage with Arlo and Cyril Pahinui several years ago while I was the guitar tech for America. I must say it was a wonderful experience. FYI Cyril Pahinui has two brothers ( Bla and Martin) and his father was Gabby Pahinui. They are MASTERS of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar.

It sure was. I just wish my memory was a little better and I could remember the exact date of this show. Arlo was really cool about having his picture taken with me. It is my favorite photo from my days on the road with America !!!!!!!!
