I just ordered tickets to see Arlo Guthrie on both of the Irvine, CA dates in November. I was able to get incredible seats, front row the first night and second row the second night.

I am excited to see Arlo Guthrie play because I just discovered him. I am twenty-two and this past November I watched Alice's Restuarant for the first time. Since then I have watched it with all of my friends (who like it too) and probably have seen it at least ten times since November.

I can't wait until November!

On the Highway in the Wind,
Sean

And we're excited for you! Have fun. I wish my kids (your age) would show at least a little interest, let alone excitement, at seeing Arlo!

I started dragging my kids to Arlo and Pete concerts when they were young...I think Laura was 7 when she saw them at Wolf Trap for the first time. I guess it made an impression; she's now 23, loves going to Folk Festivals with me, and is probably going to go up with me in May to MA for the HD Walk. She's been attending the local Folk Club here since she was about 12, and looks at all our Folk Club/Blunderite friends as her extended family. Some of those folks have seen her every week, or at least twice a year since she was 12, so they're the same as family! She took a copy of the Alice's Restaurant movie to college with her, showed it to a bunch of her friends, and dragged a few of 'em to Arlo concerts, and created new enthusiastic fans. I think it's great that you discovered Arlo at 22! Enjoy the concerts; you've got great seats!
My son Kevin, at 26, likes the music, but you'd never get him to admit it...it's not hard to get him to go to a concert when Guthries are in the area. He'll go if I buy the tickets!

Thank you for your kind replies. I can't enough of Arlo Guthrie. I am glad the concerts I am going to are not until November--so I can get all his other albums!

Thanks,
Sean

Hi Sean,
It is a wonderful thing how Arlo and Pete Seeger and now their kids and grandkids appeal to all generations. Glad to have you aboard. You ought to come out to the church (Guthrie Center) sometime. Parts of it look exactly the same as the movie and it "feels" great there. Enjoy! Reg

Sean,
Welcome! As for getting his other albums, go on the left of this window, to the "Get Stuff" gray bar. And some Arlo music that isn't available there is available at http://www.itunes.com: search for "Arlo Guthrie" when you're there.
Shelley

My kids first Arlo concert was the Gathering of The Vibes 2003 in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. I think there was a Severe Storm Warning and damn near a State of Emergency as it rained torrentially! My daughter was 7 and my son was 2 then. It was a fun time none-the-less.

My kids first Pete Seeger concert was in a bookstore in Millbrook, NY later that same year and we try and catch Pete at various Beacon, NY festivals throughout the year.

I'm excited too! I just got tickets to see Arlo in Plymouth in May, and I plan on doing the HD walk for the first time this year. I've seen him in concert three times so far - and I'm 24 :) My parents have a lot of his records that I listened to. There's just something about his voice, the messages in his songs, his humor - I'm hooked!
