Lol. I was at an Arlo gig where some dude sitting next to us was smoking reefer & passing the joints to his friends. & The guy was doing it in Coming Into La. When Arlo sang bringing in a couple of keys the dude would take a toke & then crack up laughing. It was soooo funny. I was later talking to Arlo about it & he sadi he could smell it & it made him feel kinda high lol. So you don't have to smoke it to feel the effects lol! This gig was at the now defunct Floodzone in Richmond. ...

"The New York State Thruway's closed, man!" is one thing he said,but funnier is what he said when they asked him to take the stage a day early...

I have no idea who was on stage with him,i know nothing about Arlo other then the 5mins of footage i watched lastnight which i loved!...and id love to learn more about him,his music,what he's like etc. etc. feel free to insight me with yer Arlo Knoledge!

I would also love to know who was in the band for Arlo.

What I would also like to know is which version of Coming into Los Angeles was the one that Arlo actually performed at Woodstock there seems to be two versions flying around. The one on the DVD is different to the one on the Woodstock album release

I noticed Coming Into LA was slower in the movie than the album & I wondered why if it was the same performance. I read somewhere that with a Dylan video performance the video version was slower than the record version & the reasonw as it was speeded up. So I wondered if they did that with Arlo?

Yeah a lot of the performances were speeded up etc at Woodstock and some were even re-recorded for the first release in the digital re-matering they then went back to the original recordings! however I can find nothing about Arlo's songs as he sings the first line of Coming into LA with a sloightly different tune etc in one version which I think is the the real version from Woodstock,

Arlo did a show here in Pittsburgh back in '87 when he was in a mood to tell all kinds of Woodstock stories. If memory serves, he said there was some problem with the concert tape & the version of "LA" that you hear in the movie was actually recorded at some small club. That's why you see no close-ups of him singing in the movie.

Just to clarify my last post, which I can't edit---RE: Arlo's performance of "LA", the video in the movie is from Woodstock, but not the audio.

Yeah, I remember him telling that story, too. As I recall he said they found the recording of the worst he'd ever performed that song anywhere (!!!), and put it in the movie. He didn't know where it was from.
