Hey I don't mean to be rude or anythin, but does anyone know the drugs he used "back then"? Pot would probably be an obvious..if you ever watched the woodstock documentary or the tape with walkin down the line on it. Did he do anythin else?

I have no idea as I've never seen him do any drugs. Maybe someone else knows...

Well, I was just watching the Woodstock documentary, so that kind of got me wondering, and I read someone's woodstock experience, and they said something along the lines that they were tripping on LSD and Arlo went into this monolouge about a Pharoah, but the guy said he was probably trippin too, so I was just curious.

Arlo does tell a couple stories with a pharoah involved--the story of Moses, and the story of Joseph. I know he's been telling the story of Moses since the late 60's, so maybe he told it at Woodstock. Check out Arlo's announcements from a couple months ago. You can find out how to get it.

What you don't seem to realize is that Arlo is a very spiritual person.
He has studied religion...namely Catholicism and then Judaism.
He now, I believe, studies under a spiritual guru named Ma.
Spiritual things and mundane things, like drugs, don't mix.

Well thats not totally true..a lot of people actually use hallucinagins for a spritual "trip", but I see where you are comin from. Thanks guys.

Oh, yeah. Many God sightings back in the day. Arlo probably doesn't remember exactly what he did. The main thing is he didn't get anymore burnt than he just naturally was from it all.

Arlo is cool whether he did drugs then.... or does drugs now............sometimes when i listen to his songs I totally understand them..... is that because of all the drugs I did then?......... or now!!!!!!!..............I"m from the JUST SAY YES! generation so I'm probaly not a good one to ask! Given that it was THE 60's aand all, why wouldn't you just assume that Arlo and all of us "did drugs"? Some of us inhaled, some of us say we didn't, some of us tasted and tripped and grooved and generally realized that throughout everything we are all in this together whether we stop to realize it or not. Oh my it was fun!

Myself being 10 years younger than Arlo, I caught the tail end of the hippie generation and was there to witness the faded blue jeans, long hair, and the love beads. I loved the free feeling...the long flowing hair, the faded blue jeans ( I've always loved faded blue jeans ), and the love beads ( I still like coloured beads ).
The important thing for me was the antiwar movement against the war in Vietnam. People proclaimed love and flower power. I was never one to get into the drugs, though, that was too hard core for me.
As a teenager, I made a decision not to smoke or drink or do drugs. I liked bloody Marys, though, and I almost got addicted to cigarettes.
My decision meant that I would not drink bloody Marys and I would not touch another cigarette, again.
The 1960's was a time of experimentation, but I personally think that drugs were a down side of that time period. We lost Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison to drugs.
