Arlo-the offer for the use of my cottage on Chautauqua Lake when you play Chautauqua Institution this summer is still open. It's a beautiful modern cottage with 2 apartments on a creek with lake access and I assure you I'm not some wacked out fan. I'll respect your privacy(although I am an old fan and would like to meet you). There's a trailer next door where the crew could stak(nothing fancy-a fishing camp). We bought the property when we lost our son in an auto accudent last year as an investment that goes to his son when he comes of age.I'd be honored if you'd use it , especially since I use a remake of Alice's Restaurant as the theme sonr for my bait shop."You can get anything you want at the Happy Hooker Bait and Tackle Shop-exceptin Janie(my wife)"It's a fourth rate imitation -The only thing worse than my pickin' is my singing, but it's so damn catchy as you well know that everyone is walking around singing it and station that I never paid for air time have been playing it. I hope you take that as a complimentand as one old hippie to another I'd be honored if you find the time Saturday morning after your Friday nite gig to listen to 101.9 FM-The Grissly Gary Hunting and Fishing Show and listen to my poor rendition/tribute to one of the greats of my generation. I'll have Gary send out a special greeting and thanks for the original classic Alice's. If interested in the cottage, just have someone email me and we can work out the details. Lon

Hey thanks for the offer. We're all set up already somewheres already but appreciate the deal. Things change for us pretty quickly and moving an entire flock around is not an easy task - we'd hate to have to bail on the bait and switch while I keep a tight rein on the herd as a few of em would probably just show up to see if Xaviera was playing there. They're not so good at spotting a loose A as I am which is why I make the big 50 cents.

Thanks again,
adg

Hi Shari. I'm glad to know that you are Jenniffer Guthrie's best friend. We've been emailing each other for awhile, now, and she really is a nice woman. I've been enjoying getting to know her. As for if she really is Arlo's cousin, I don't see why she would be lying. Arlo has to have some distant cousing out there in the States, etc. I did some research on the Guthrie family tree and found that Leon Jerry Guthrie (Jack) was married to a woman named Ruth way back in 1935 or so. That would've been Jenniffer's grandmother. Jack's parents were John and Ethel Guthrie. I read somewhere that Jack's father was the younger brother of Charley Guthrie, who was the grandfather of Arlo Guthrie.
I find it hard to trace any further on the children that Jack Guthrie had. He died of tuberculosis shortly after he turned 32.
Anyway, Jenniffer Guthrie would be Arlo's second cousin once removed.
