I hate to get all caught up in the details, but I think he says "thruway". :) I used to think it was "freeway" too. But You're right, that one never gets old. It probably has for Arlo by now though :)

I guess by calling the Thruway a Freeway you have managed to make it 'new'... but of all roads to confuse, the Thruway in NY will NEVER be confused for a FREEway!
Me? I take the taconic! Or better yet, i take the local routes when I want to meander - Old 17 in NY, Route 7 up to the Berks... stop and smell the roses, ya know?

I used to take the Taconic all the time driving from Long Island to Saratoga and back. One thing about it, Arnie, is watch out for the radar speed traps near the north end. Got two speeding tickets back in the early 80's in my '78 Toyota which I had to really wind up on the downhills so I could make it up the next hill!
