..... The Mammals were pretty darned good, I must say..... and Arlo was great.

But I wonder how he managed to get Jim Croce back on stage? He looked damn good for being dead for so long. (Must have a good make-up person). Oh,..... Arlo called him "Gordon Titcomb". (Yeah, right..... I know Jim Croce when I see him).

I really liked the monologue working up to "Coming Into Los Angeles". That was really funny. Arlo really can tell a story.

And after the show... he was sitting at a table, signing autographs for his beloved fans. (Like me). He put his autograph on my 11-string, just like I had hoped. (Yes,..... I know it's supposed to have 12,..... it just don't).

After he signed it, I asked for a pic of he and I with the guitar. "Sure", he said..."But there's a really long line here, gotta keep it moving".

"Sorry", I said... "I don't mean to be greedy,... Oh, by the way....... I'm Don Coyote, from ARLONET".

"Oh",..... he replied....."So exactly WHAT do you have against trains"?

....."Um,..... I LOVE trains", I said.

"But you don't think AMTRAK needs our support"?

....."That's not what I said".

Arlo grabs me by my coat collar and accuses me of being a liar,... all the while increasing his grip on my throat. Then he puts me in a full-nelson and demands that I contribute a generous donation to the Amtrak Historical Society.

As I was growing faint from lack of oxygen, I had to go on the defensive. I jumped to my feet, did a little spin and grabbed Arlo by the ponytail. I turned around again, bringing the Ponytail up over my shoulder and gave it a HUGE yank. To my suprise,... I landed flat on my face on the grass, still grasping a full head of hair!!!

......... A FREAKIN' WIG!!!

Then, Arlo jumps up on the table and RIPS off his leather vest and shirt and does a high "Flying Elbow Drop", just like "Randy Macho Man Savage" and plows right into my sternum!!! Then he gave me two big kicks to the ribs!!!

..... All I could do was to grab his big boot to intercept his third kick, before it could make impact.

I pulled his leg to get him off balance, and managed to thwart his attack. But he came back with another attempt,..... but I intercepted that one, as well.

So I was there, on the ground... pulling his leg.....

He DID sign my guitar, and we got a nice photo together. My 9 year old son, (Jagger), also enjoyed the show, and I got a noce pic of him with Arlo, as well. I'm gonna frame them both. (The pic and ticket stub,..... not Arlo and Jagger).

Thanks for a great show, Arlo. You're absolutely qualified to stand out in a field and say,.....

....."They went thattaway".

Sounds like a great show. Ya know what once Mike & I were discussing that we thought Gordon looked alot like Jim Croce. Maybe he could do a medly of Jim Croce songs in the show. Kinda interesting how people can favor each other...

Yes, that was a cracking show in Interlochen. It was the first time that my daughters had seen Arlo and they enjoyed themselves, their favourite song is Alice's Restaurant. I think that Arlo deserves a big thank you for taking time to sign autographs after the show.

He appeared to really enjoy meeting with his fans.

When I met Don McLean, he was rather aloof. He autographed my old Sears Roebuck guitar, ... which was really cool because It was my FIRST acoustic, and they very FIRST song I learned to play on it was "American Pie".

But I think the point of signing autographs was to sell his new CD. He didn't appear to want to be there.

But it was GREAT meeting him in person, and I treasure that guitar. (Even though I only paid $3.00 for it at a yard sale).

Now I have Arlo's signature, as well. (And "The Mammals", too!!! ... But I missed getting Abe's sig,..... he was on the wrong end of the table).
And what better a guitar to sign than my old 11/12 string.

You'll never find it on eBay,..... not while I'm alive. It has it's own stand in the corner of my living room, and hanging on the wall above it soon will be a nice 8X10 color glossy picture with circles and arrows that identify Arlo and myself. (My son got a pic of us).

The Mammals were great fun, Gordon sang a song from his new CD and Arlo was fantastic.

The crowd, as usual, were totally geeked to be there. (Nothing like an audience full of 50-60+ year old people in tie-dye! Kind of a preview of what our blunder retirement community will look like.)

Actually, as always, there were plenty of folks of all ages, and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show.

Beautiful venue, but HOT! Not a hint of breeze. You'd think in northern lower Michigan at night there'd at least be a cool breeze ... but NOOOOO.
Poor guys on stage were mopping sweat off their brows all night.

After we stopped at a gas station to pick up some cold drinks and John met the wife of someone who runs errands for Arlo ... was that your wife, Don Coyote?

All in all, a wonderful time.

Reminds me to give a huge THANK YOU to Arlo for Arlographing my guitar. 9-26-04, Detroit Lakes, Mn. Missed the gig in Minneapolis in June . Now have to wait til 3-06 in Fargo????? DARN!!! It's going to be a looooooong winter. Oh well, there's always ice fishing........ (mine won't be on ebay in my lifetime either!!!!!!!)
