I am a little offended by this.

..... It appears that a few individuals make a living by doing this.

There are six pages (currently) of autographed guitars, many of them are all the same brand, as well as the same color. Purchased in bulk for the sole purpose of being signed by celebrities solely for profit.

Arlo signed MY guitar, and I cherish it. I love to play it, and now I can even show it off to my friends while I do, with more pride and enthusiasm. (Perhaps "prestige" could be considered profit?,........................... naah! ).

I dunno,..... I just see this as a little deceptive and rude.

Along with my 12-string, I also have an old 6-string that was signed by Don McLean. These are testimonials of history. History of my life. Where I've been. They're a piece of who I am, and like to be. I believe that this is the reason that celebrities share such pieces of THEMSELVES,..... to share this experience.

I think Arlo deserves a cut of the profits of these two guitars.

..... (Maybe he should bid on them).

I've got several instruments signed by Arlo...and they're not going anywhere. I only have him sign ones I'm planning on keeping.
It bugs me when I see people in line for autographs with a big armload of album covers they want autographed...and Arlo does graciously sign 'em all...and the next week, there's auctions on eBay from that area with those same autographed albums. But I don't think those kinds of people hang out here. We wouldn't dream of selling our old Arlo LP's!!

I have my acoustic guitar & mountain dulcimer, & 1-string Canjo signed by Afrlo. They are not being sold. They are precious to me. I see signed stuff being sold & wonder how the seller could part with it...

The signature on the acoustic guitar doesn't resemble the one on MY guitar. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, though.

..... I wonder if it's genuine.

The electric guitar in the second post, certainly looks like Arlo's signature.

Okay, ADG....... do you remember signing that red, white, and blue acoustic?

I also noticed that Arlo Guthrie (the album) is for sale used on eBay, and the bidding is up to something like $26! I guess the bidder hasn't checked ArloNet recently...

Seems some people are more interested in making a buck than making a memory. Mine are memories. One, an album given to me by my wife and soulmate. She died at 46. The other, a guitar that I have because I told a dear friend the music was gone from my life. Both Arlographed. Thank you, Arlo, from the bottom of my heart. If they EVER go on auction, they will be sent to the Guthrie Center to auction. Live Life.

I had my tickets and a few small posters that I asked Arlo to sign for me. One of which I gave to a dear friend who has been a fan of Arlo for 40 years and was unable to come to the show. The others I am keeping and I would never dream of selling them.
