It's great! It's a good definitive history of Woody's life, warts and all...lots of interviews from family and friends and researchers.

2 hrs 40 minutes. No commercials! Narrated by Billy Bragg.

when we all went to see the WG exhibit in New York a few years ago, there was a video on Woody's life, with recollections and commentaries by current artists included, playing as part of the exhibit that many of us just sat on the floor to watch... is this possibly the same video finally being commercially released? Or is this a brand new production? Most likely a question for Nora.

They had some video from the sidewalk outside the 2002 Carnegie show (at one point early on, you see Sherri walk behind the person being interviewed, and then hear her say "Hey!!" in greeting someone off camera) with interviews from Pete Seeger (looks like in a hotel room, maybe for that Carnegie show) and a lot of interview time from Nora. I saw the film from the travelling Woody exhibit when it was in the Smithsonian in DC; I don't think it was the same video; I didn't have any deja-vu moments, like I had seen it before.

I recently won this DVD from a UK country/alt country/folk magazine called "Maverick." Yes, it's a fabulous DVD. Having seen Arlo and Pete in concert many times, I've heard lots of Woody's music but never knew much about him. Now I know what an interesting (and sometimes troubled) life he led. And wow was he prolific! I really enjoyed all the interviews from Pete, and there's a short clip of him playing banjo as a young man which was fabulous. Anyway I'll listen to Woody's music in a whole new way, now that I know what inspired him to write some of his songs.

Oh Iam SO looking for THIS..........I have Hard Travelin and Vision Shared..........and I knew of Woody before I knew of Arlo....my uncle and mother are HUGE fans of his........I love his dust bowel ballads so much........they could not have PICKED a better name than "this Machine Kills Fascists" .......I LOVE that sticker on his guitar and ........well........what else can be said about a man like Woody.......he is like Arlo.....funny, prolific, and OH so intelligent....Bound For Glory is one of the best books I have ever read
