having actually been around in the 60's and having owned the original vinyl record, enjoyed seeing this again. I know Alice lives up in Provincetown, but whatever happened to Ray?

I believe Ray died some yrs ago. & So did James Broderick the guy who protrayed him in the movie. His son Matthew Broderick was best known for the movie Ferris Buellers Day Off. If I'm wrong someone will correct me I know... :)

Yes, I did know about James and Matthew Broderick, thanks. Every time I watch that movie it just takes me back to when I was in college. :D

I don't know if anyone gets the Sundance Channel, but its been showing the movie recently.

I always feel so bad for Arlo near the beginning, when he keeps getting all that harassment.
"Who else has such curly locks, Curly locks?" :(

We get that channel for 3 months as new DishNetwork subscribers. next month the 3 free months is gone & we'll have to stop getting the movie channels as they cost too much. Some other movei chaenlls like ones run by TMC have been showing it lately. So I've gotten to see it on tv lately & better enjoy it before the movie channels are gone...

I bought the DVD at Amazon, Europe for about 10 € ( I guess in $ it's about the same). I watch it at least 3 times a week, sometimes just picking out the scenes I want to see that day. It is great. No matter how often I see it, it always makes me smile. The humour behind it tickles me, the song and the movie makes me think about fate, about hypocrisy, and about the fact that not very much has changed regarding the part " burn women, kids, houses and villages". So, the song and the movie, - for me it's like Arlo made that song today. Only the draft, well you don't have the draft anymore, but a lot of these young men and women join the forces because of poverty or lack of other opportunities and probably hoping that they don't have to go where the heat is at. (Met a lot of them while we still had a lot of U.S. forces over here).
