Hi Arlonuts,
This is the first time I've logged on to a forum; have been reading you guys for a while and getting to know you(sort of). Have been Arlofan since high school in the sixties when my friends and I introduced our music teacher to Alice's Reastaraunt. Finally got to see the Folksinger himself and band when they toured Oz last year. If by any chance you read this Arlo, I'd like to thank you for the wonderful music and stories which had a very uplifting effect on me at the time. I actually came to the concert with an intravenous drip attached and a thingy of antibiotics tucked into the waistband of my jeans. I'd gotten out of hospital 2 days earlier after knee surgery and was in a bit of pain. Arlo, Abe and Co. to the rescue! I laughed and cried so much at the concert it was just what I needed and played a part in my healing. to top it off I got my Washington County album cover signed! Yay! So thanks a million! Also thanks to all the great people who post lots of interesting info on this forum.

I am pretty new to the site, but a LONG time fan..........well, not as long as some on here........but I hope Arlo DOES read your message Bobbi....I can't imagine going to a concert with IV fluids going (I am a nurse, I know what you are talking about and how hard that must have been), but if anyone is worth the effort it is Arlo

Hey BobbiB I became a fan in the sixties too and was also at the Brisbane (Kedron Wavell Services Club) concert last year. What High school did you go to?

Hey BobbiB, if you haven' got "Live in Sydney" yet, well, you gotta get it! Turn the lights down, close your eyes and listen. You will feel like you're at the show all over again! Do yourself a favour!

Have "Live In Sydney" on my suggested Xmas presents list. If no one gets the hint, I'll buy it myself! It's great to know there are others heading for "Mooseland" getting so much joy from Arlo's music. My friends and I in high school were kinda seen as the hippy contingent. While most of the other kids were into the Monkees, we were listening to Woody, Arlo, Bob Dylan, Donovan etc. and reading the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Here I am some 35odd years later, still listening to Woody, Arlo, Bob Dylan , Donovan and still exploring spirituality- Eastern or otherwise! Some things are timeless, though my kids reckon I'm stuck in a time warp!

Sounds like you hung out with the same group as I did when I was in highschool. Now we're that bunch of "old hippies" and still hangin' out with the same crowd, only now in Cyberspace. Technology is sometimes grand ain't it? If you haven't been to the Group W bench yet you should try it! There's all kinds of old hippies, moosefriends, mead making firepitologists, all manner of religions, serious stuff funny stuff, cheese readers, truckers, violin stringers, boomer/spooners, arlonet addicts etc. etc. oh and even someone who tries to herd cats (without much success)

So if your game, click on Fan Base on ArloNet homepage toolbar, then on Forums and you'll find yourself there. Warning........once you get in there you may never leave you'll feel so much at home. You'll be amongst a bunch of highly intelligent people who sit like square pegs in the round hole of mainstream society.

Hi Louise, Bobbi and the gang,

Seems like there's many of us on the same folkslinger wavelength. We were at the Kedron Wavell and Twin Towns concerts last year too. And then lucky enough to make it to Roanoke VA a few weeks back where we met Cheryl after the show - Hi Cheryl !!!!! Our copy of Live in Sydney arrived from Naga at Rising Son yesterday ... wooohoooo :) Its such a great CD - realy captures the atmosphere of Arlo in concert.

Hey Louise-Thanks for the tip about the Group W Bench forum. Went and checked it out-the 60's have a lot to answer for( in a good way!) Nothing like a bit of fruitloopicity! Good to hear from you too Davex7. There must be quite a few downunderblunderers around. That would have been fabbalus going to the States to see Arlo. Also meeting Cheryl. Always good to catch up with friends, cyber or otherwise.
