How are you all doing? I was posting here regularly this past summer but then I got busy and now I am in Baghdad working. I sure as hell didn't want to come out here for the obvious reasons but this company kept upping the salary then I couldn't say no. I got bills too! But its not tobad I guess.. the heat has finally subsided and its actually quite beautiful out here. Reminds me of an Arabian paradise you would see in a movie. I working near Baghdad International Airport across the street from one of Hussien's palaces working on information networks. I'm a geek, I know. Life isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I'm in a safe area so that gives me some peace of mind. So aside from working, when I get time off I have been hiding in this room in a building with my recording equipment and started laying down some new songs. I figure if I stay busy the time will pass and I will be able to come home sooner than later. So whats new in Arlo's world? Church show is coming up soon yes? Anyway, I hope I find you all in good spirits. Stay warm!!

its a Fostex 8 track digital recorder I snagged on Musician's Friend. Its not a bad piece of hardware. Its portable and thats what I was going for.

We're doing okay considering our diabetes & all. Got to go to see Arlo in: Bethesda, MD in the spring, Alexandria, VA in the summer & Roanoke & Charlottesville, VA in Sept. Went to Mikes sisters in Ohio in July & a few weeks ago went to the Hillbilly area of KY Mike is from for a reunion. Yesterday we went to a craft show in Richmond & got to see a coupla hammered dulcimer players play their hammered dulcimers & see some folk selling bowed Psalterys play them. I bought a cd of hymns done on the mountain dulcimer. It is by a 2 time dulcimer champion. Really nice...
