I guess this should be in Folksinger Spottings, but I wanted to be sure no one missed this. It's a great article in the new Relix about the CONO tour with pictures of varioius Guthries and others including Gordon. I just don't want anyone who doesn't normally get Relix to miss it and a thousand apologies if it's already been posted all over the site and I just missed it.

Really now! Relix? Last time I scanned a copy on the newsstand they had a feature on Slade, the 70's Glam Rock noise band.

This is a backhanded compliment, like Spinal Tap hearing themselves on a "Where are they now?" show. Wow, Arlo Guthrie! Is he still alive?

I guess there may be some truth about the old saw, "any publicity is good publicity," but I wonder...

Hey Pat - What issue was that?? I checked in Barnes & Noble today and they have the Dec/Jan issue. I bought it anyway because there's a lot of good stuff on Jerry Garcia. So ... being a deadhead, too ..... HAD to buy that issue!! So maybe the Relix you're talking about is February?? Thanks!

Relix usually arrives in subscriber mailboxes about two or three weeks before it arrives in stores... patience!!

....Thanks for the info....I gotta pick myself up a copy while it is sizzling hot!....Is it only the bookstores like B&N and Borders that carry Relix?...I went to my local grocery store and CVS Pharmacy and it was not available at their newsstands

I don't know Petie. Relix is mostly about the current jamband scene now plenty of young people in their readership. They're the folks behind jambands.com. Most of that young following know very well that Arlo's alive. He's an icon with them, even if they're in not in the majority at his regular shows.

I just remembered Arlo was in a coupla issues of Relix in the past. I think one issue was a big article on him & the other couple or so were smaller stuff on him. I have 'em hid around here somewhere in the archives...

Got mine at Barnes and Noble at Baltimore's Inner Harbor Saturday. They had three, I left one. (one to save, one to read) Two page spread, mostly photos. Looks great!

The article in Relix was great. The photos were good to mediocre. JohnC's photos of the trip were much better (and that's not just me talkin). REG
