Click Me to see the original movie trailer for Alice's Restaurant!!!

..... I found it on eBay, and I got it. It just arrived today, and I transferred it to video, and then to .mpeg and .wmv.

And now you ALL can enjoy it.

(The color is a litle faded). :(

I collect 16mm films. (I forgot to mention that).

I'm going to add this VERY short clip to one of my other popular films. (I sometimes perform an "Old-School Movie Night" at a local campground, near to where I live).

It looks like a shortened version of the trailer that's on the DVD.

I think they took the best parts of the movie and crammed them in there :)

Don't feel stupid. We don't have the dvd yet as we're not sure if the boycott of it is off & can't find it around here anyway. So we appreciate the upload of it. Waiting for it to buffer lol...

mrs.hi-c,

I didn't understand the boycott either. Check out this link on Amazon and scroll down to ADG's review of the DVD in April 2001:

Yup Sparks, I remember adg saying somewhere or other to go buy and enjoy, even though things weren't sorted yet. So I went to Sanity (record chain store here, not sure about there) a few months ago and got my copy for $10 (OZdollars) and have been enjoying since! It was never released on VHS here and was only on TV once that I know of.

Hi, I didn't know about a boycott either, but I bought the Alice's DVD at Amazon here in Germany before I even joined this forum. As a matter of fact I first bought the Woodstock Diaries, got hooked on Arlo because of "Walking Down the Line", wanted to know more about the man, bought the Alice's DVD, got hooked even more and here I am, trying to learn and hear as much as I can.
It's a shame that he wasn't treated fairly but as nice as Arlo is he said go for it and enjoy and I am enjoying it a lot, especially the part at the draft office, at Obie's jail, the music studio at college and more. So all of you who don't have it yet, you need to go buy it. But I buy Arlo's CDs through Rising Son Records and no other source. This way I make sure that the purchase goes to the right channel. (Hope that came out right).
Even though the "Dear Mr. Customs man" gave me a hard time with my last order. Won't stop me from ordering more.
Peace and Love
Brigitte

I was watching the movie on TV about a year ago, and when it came to the part when Alice was weeping on Arlo's couch in New York, and Arlo sat down and began to play those very familiar chords..... I went directly to my computer to find a copy on eBay.

I FOUND ONE!!! :D

So I bought it on DVD,..... and watched that ONE SCENE about a hundred times, and THAT'S how I learned how to play Alice's Restaurant" on my guitar. (Just watching his fingers).

Then I found THIS website, where Arlo has it written in TAB. :(

..... Heck, that's okay..... I loved the movie. :P
