Who'd a thunk I'd be around to see this, but Summer has finally arrived. The flowers and things growing in the garden are looking fairly stable. No more worries as far as they are concerned. That doesn't meant it won't snow. I've seen the white stuff in July. But for the most part it appears to be out of sight until next October/November. Meanwhile, there are a couple of months to enjoy being outside. I'm gonna make the most of it.... :)

Smells like cicadas round here

I’m like, why does it smell funny round here? Maybe I need to clean something off?

Then I remembered and realized that it was the smell of cicadas.

I love all the fireflies! I do miss that there weren’t as many cicadas as there were last time. One thing I would like to say about that is, Please, please don’t take all the fallen tree tips (where they plant their eggs) and stuff them into yard trim bags to be taken away. Be aware of them and let them lay on the best earth around you so that they can carry on with their seventeen year cyclical journey and greet us again in abundance! They are truly special.

We didn't get any 17 year critters up this far north... I think we used to, but it's hard to remember. I remember hearing them in Colorado but that was decades ago.

Yeah they don’t show up everywhere, or at least not at the same time and in the same place? But in case it was relevant to anyone or any place, I just thought I would mention it :)
I remember them (some people somewhere) saying something about 17 year cicadas to emerge last year, and I am like, “That is a bit early” but apparently a different brood someplace else. I don’t know everything about them, but I have experienced them and they are super amazing (or astonishing?) :)

And sometimes called the Full Thunder Moon <3

I love seeing all the photographs. I love all the ancient organic historic landmarks.

Around here (The Berkshires) we had lots of thunder and plenty of bucks... Probably all the other names as well, or most of 'em. I guess I could've called it pool moon too, cause that's where I plan to be this month (if it ever stops raining). But, I just went with the most popular name I saw. Having said all that here's what it looked like from here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/folksling ... en-public/
