"If you go to the Woody Guthrie Free Folk Music Festival in Okemah, Okla." http://www2.startribune.com/stOnLine/cgi-bin/article?thisStory=81880867
Okemah, Okla., is 70 miles east of Oklahoma City and 65 miles southwest of Tulsa on Interstate Hwy. 40. Once an oil town and now an agricultural community, Okemah has a population of about 3,000.
During the Woody Guthrie Free Folk Music Festival, you can camp at the
Okemah Round-Up Club Arena for $15 for one tent. Showers, and a shuttle to the concert site. (The shuttle is cool -- rows of wooden theater seats pulled by a tractor that rattles slowly up the road. Every time it passed us the passengers were sitting with great dignity, staring straight ahead, hands on knees.)

Damn! I didn't realize he was there at 2:00 today, although I knew I couldn't see the show tonight. I will watch Letterman on Friday night, though. Thanks Janet, for the info!

Thanks for the info Janet! I am in the Billy Bragg chat now as we speak. I asked him a question & guess what! He answered it! Here it is: (Isn't the internet cool huh? Image)

"Prince George, VA: We all know you love Woody Guthrie. What do you think of his son Arlo? & Would you ever want to do an album with him? Which was your favorite of the 2 MERMAID AVE records to do? Thanks!

Billy Bragg: Funnily enough, I was buying Arlo's albums before I ever got into Woody. Yes, I'd happily do an album with him. MA2? Love 'em all."

Lemme get back to the chat & see what's up! Image
