Arlo on radio in December:
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/991216/ny_twec_li_1.html

MONDAY 12/20
-- The RadioWoodstock On Stage series continues this week with an audio
broadcast starring legendary folk singer Arlo Guthrie. Arlo's early
fame was a result of his gold record, Alice's Restaurant. The
remastered version of Alice's Restaurant is currently available at
TWEC.COM. The concert airs at the following times: Monday 12/20 at
4:00 PM EST, Wednesday 12/22 at 11:00 AM EST, Saturday 12/25 at 3:00 AM
EST and Sunday 12/26 at 7:00 PM EST.

Arlo's taped Yasgur's Farm concert will be aired on 12/25/99:

RadioWoodstock On Stage: Arlo Guthrie
Arlo Guthrie carved out a career as a folksinger and songwriter with a social conscience and adds humor to his political messages. Taking up the guitar at age 6, Guthrie was playing in coffeehouses by his late teens and would eventually produce a gold record with Alice's Restaurant. Hear the talented folk singer during this week-long RadioWoodstock previously-taped audio broadcast, originally recorded live at Yasgar's Farm on Saturday, December 25 at 3 a.m. ET. Tune into RadioWoodstock.

The Sunday 7 pm date will the Arlo show be on then? Or is it just the Dec 25 date? On their website it talks like it might only be on Dec 25. Sure hope it's on Sun. I'm not able to listen to it on the 25th a 3 am cuz we're gonna spend the nite at my parents house Christmas Eve & my moms new puter with sound is all goofed up & in the shop for repairs. Her 486 33 MHZ WIN 3.1 has no sound either & can't seem to get AOL anymore. The program somehow vamished after I gave it back to her after I got my new free puter. She's using my laptop which is a 486 100 MHZ WIN 95. It has no sound on it either. No sound card! ARRGH! I think they picked the worst time to broadcast it. If anyone knows if it'll be on Sunday for sure, thanks for the info! Image

I just found out my Mother got her puter back! PRAISE THE LORD! :) She has been aprrised of the fact that I will be staying up at 3 AM Dec 25. Just hope she can get it working by then. LOL! It involved over $15,000 (Or is that $1.500) worth of work & hope that will now make it work right. Fortunately it was all covered under her warranty! :)

Thanks for the info! The gig has bad timing! We usually go thru Charleston, WV during the summer when we go to visit Mikes sister & Aunts in OH. We can't go now cuz we can only afford to go there once a yr it being so far & weatherwise it's not a good time of year to go in case of snow. I wish they'd had it in the summer! :( & the tickets were so cheap! Valentines day is gonna be sad for me. Sigh...

Arlo and the Guthrie Center were featured on the Healthy Kids TV show this past weekend. Just happened to catch it on Sunday (Jan. 30) at about 8:45 AM.
Here's the site for the TV show: http://www.healthykids.com/aboutus/6.html

Arlo Guthrie, Willie Nelson, and Pete Seeger are
just a few of the notable artists interviewed in David
Crosby's "Stand and Be Counted," a documentary on
music and activism in the past 40 years. Crosby —
whose "What Are Their Names," off his star-studded
solo album, If I Could Only Remember My Name, was
itself an eloquent call for social change — said he
was surprised that no books or films have been made
about music and political activism. He began compiling
concert footage, news footage and interviews with
prominent artist and activists. Clips from political
benefits, Live Aid, Farm Aid and the Tibetan Freedom
Concert, to name just a few, will be blended with
backstage stories of the preparations and creation of
these types of events. The documentary also will
feature Joan Baez, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and
Peter Gabriel. The documentary will premiere on the
Learning Channel Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 22
and 23 at 9 p.m. EDT. ...
