I've been to many Arlo shows and this one was, without a doubt, THE BEST I've ever seen! Arlo was so focused and so intense. I posted before the show that I really wanted to hear three songs. Well, either he read the post or it was the fact that it was his and Jackie's 35th wedding anniversary ... but he played all three! (Darkest Hour, Can't Help Falling in Love and You and Me)I WAS TEARY throughout the entire show. After the show, we were on stage posing for a volunteer picture (another long story because I was NOT really a volunteer but ended up going to get George some turkey for a sandwich!!) and then sang HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Arlo and Jackie. I hope they have MANY, MANY more happy anniversaries to come! Then, I walked up to Arlo and gave him a hug and thanked him for playing the three songs I wanted to hear. I was nervous and never even told him my name!! HEY ARLO -- IT'S CYNDY!!!! Then I got my picture taken with Arlo (which is now my wallpaper on my computer!)! WHAT A NIGHT!!

However, after the show, while waiting to use the bathroom, I heard some people who were waiting in line talking about that they didn't like the show because he didn't "talk" much. While, I guess that was true in some way, they were really angry!!! I fought back my thoughts. If that's all they wanted and it didn't happen, then stay home and give the tickets to someone who wants to be there. He played more than he spoke (which was unusual for Arlo) but GEEZ!!! let the man do what he wants!!! He feels at home there AND it was his 35th anniversary! Then they were angry about taking so long to get into the bathroom! This was about 5-6 ladies who cpmplained that they paid ALL THAT MONEY and HE NEVER TOLD A STORY!! They were starting to really piss me off so I couldn't take it and finally asked them why them came??! They looked at me and told me to "Go to hell ... you're a hippie, too!". At that point, I realized I better leave, which I did.

I wanted to post this earlier but I've been trying to take all of this in. Well ... they didn't spoil MY night!! I was estatic and LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!! I even got to meet new blunderfriends ... hi to KJ, Shelly, Cliffte, Larry, Arnie and I can't remember who else. Also ... got to see some friends I met in July .. hi Wyld, Terrie, Judy, John and others. Sorry you didn't win the motorsickle, Wyld ... even after you posed for such a nice picture with it!

Just some thoughts. Sorry this was so long ... I just had to get those thoughts out even if it took me a week to do so!!

Cyndy, Hey you hippie you ! I'm so glad he played all THREE songs for ya! Other than the line at the bathroom, sounds like one hellava BLAST! I'm glad ya posted your thoughts! Maybe it will help in some way, cuz I woulda been pretty pi**ed, as well! Are ya goin to BLAT tonight? And how is 'RAMBLIN' MAN' comin? Hope to 'see' ya tonight!

while i missed hearing the stories on saturday night, too...that was way over the line, cyndy! with any luck, they won't want to spend "all that money" again and the seats can go to someone who didn't get some this year. i'm sorry to hear you had to deal with listening to those people at the end of the night. it's good you didn't let it ruin your evening and i'm happy you got to hear "your" songs.! musically, it was definitely a great show! i was fortunate enough to see sunday's show, also...and i got to hear lots of stories at that one so, for me, it was two very different nights and that was cool.

I was such a happy camper Saturday night--the three songs you wanted to hear, and did, were three that I really wanted to hear, too--that I didn't notice he didn't tell many stories. Didn't he? I'd have to see a tape of the show to remember that. Maybe the stories were going around in my head, even if he didn't tell them. There were obviously some pretty strong vibes floating around. I thought it was one of the best shows I've ever seen! Really special! I smiled through the whole thing, and got teary-eyed a time or two as well. Those people who were unhappy with the show were probably people that only ever want to hear Arlo do "Alice", and don't care about any of his other songs. They just want to keep him in his little "Alice" box, rather than opening it (and their hearts) up and letting him out. They sure missed a wonderful time!

Well, the more Arlo talks the less he sings, and the more he sings the less he talks. Ya just can't please everybody! I did also notice that he didn't dance even one step, and I'd bet his mom taught him a move or two! I mean.......I mean......... I mean if Arlo were to start dancing at his shows, we could kinda get the new Las Vegas Arlo.......kinda like what happened to Elvis. And then, 50 years from now, there would have to be a vote as to which likeness to put on the postage stamp......the " Classic Arlo" or the "Vegas Arlo".

What Judy and Deb and Ruthie and Larry said. (Well, at least the first three. I don't know about VegasArlo.) The Bathrom Line People obviously missed the best part--what it's all about. Probably, they always will. It was great to meet you, and I'm glad you got to help out; that is a very important part of it all, to me. If I haven't gotten to help in at least some small way, it's just not the same.

I do believe this is one for Joe! We can heretofore refer to those individuals as 'The Bathroom Ladies', altho, not so sure they are Ladies! hows about Bathroom Bitches?~~
I have trouble w/those individuals takin up those tickets, when so many others woulda done about anything to have that wonderful, Blunderful Opportunity! Even spend "All that money" HA!

Yeah it brings back some bad and embarrassing memories for me at the Brisbane show when those "I'm here to hear Alice's" people kept yelling out. Arlo handled it really well, but some people just can't think outside that square I guess. Like when Dylan went electric and got called Judas.
Boy I admire artists who change and grow, don't we all!!!
Hey Cyndy tell those Bathroom Ladies they can send me an airfare and Revival tickets next time instead of WASTING their money and taking up space!!!!!

i don't know about calling them "bitches"...that's generally a term of endearment around here. "the bathroom ladies" might be better in that it's more cryptic.
