...what a delightful night!.....this club was hoppin' .....totally jammed.....so sold out that people were actually rotating seats to get in for at least part of it..... (the four people in front of us completely changed into other people a time or two by the end of the show)......

..his opening act on this night was Alistair Mouck....pretty good....pretty funny....did a short 20-25 minute set....ending with "I encourage you to stick around and see Arlo".....

Arlo was truly alone and by himself ( think it's been like 10 years or more since i've seen him perform alone, Symphony Hall, around 1993)....and went well over 90 minutes without a break.....lots of great stories, with every song...think it took him about 20 minutes to get through "This Land" - about 3 verses of it.....he seemed to be happy and relaxed and sure looked like he was enjoying himself.... we certainly were......

thanks to all the Guthries for another great one with lots of astonishing memories...and to Arlo especially, for the whole year, but especially takin on this whole town for a week again and makin it so special....

I was at the show Wednesday night and also Monday, and both shows were great. Arlo seems to be having fun at Club Passim. Its such a great little place in Harvard Square. Us local people are really spoiled this week. Not only do we have Arlo for a week at Club Passim, but when he leaves Friday night, Bob Dylan comes in to play on Sunday. How cool is that. Dylan won't be at Club Passim (which would be insane), but he'll be playing in Harvard campus somewhere. I saw Dylan last night at UNH and he was amazing. Sunday should be a great show, since it's his last on this tour. Too bad Arlo wasn't sticking around this weekend..... I guess its deja vu of the Newport Folk Fest. of 2001.....Oh well. Thanks Arlo for coming to Club Passim again. You were amazing!!!

....no doubt it's just a coincidence, but i've noticed how Dylan seems to come into the area just after Arlo......one year Arlo sold out at the House of Blues for 3? or 4? nights....Dylan popped in for a last minute gig at a big Boston dance club on the last night...... then there was the year that Arlo and Abe played Jordan Hall (music conservatory) and on the same night Bob and Paul Simon played Great Woods....which is a fairly long trip out of Boston, but they stayed in town......

...this time though, it's not quite the opportunity it may seem for those who want to see Dylan....this is a private concert, open only to Harvard students, faculty and staff....
