Hi everyone!

I have not been in here in ages (so much that I had to re-register!). Last night, I saw the best Arlo concert I have ever seen! He played with Gordon, Abe, and two guys who have played with Arlo since the 70's. We were lucky to get in as everyone else were Guthrie Church members (which I will be soon!).

Among the songs played:

Alice's Restaurant (amazing version...first tiume I ever heard it live...very cool to hear among where it takes place!)
House of the Rising Sun
Pastures of Plenty (beautiful version)
City of Los Angeles
Chilling of the Evening
My Friends
City of New Orleans
San Francisco Bay Blues
Green Rocky Road
Hawaii song (title I don't remember)
a few instrumentals including one that really was awesome
My Peace (what a great song)
This Land is Your Land
Highway in the Wind

Thanks for posting the info about the show! :D I'm going to tomorrow night's -- which also happens to be Arlo and Jackie's anniversary!! Ought to be great, also!! The House of the Rising Sun!!!! WOW!! Hope he does it tomorrow! Can you tell I'm only a little excited about going? Isn't the Church beautiful?? I feel so "at home" and peaceful when I'm there.

How huge of an ovation did it get when he said "Alice didn't live in the restaurant, she lived in a church"? I'd go flippin nuts if I heard that song in the church!

Throughout the first parts of the song when there are many references to that whole area, there were lots of applause. The best place to hear the song! If any gets a chance to go there, you should. It is a wonderful venue.

Went to the Friday concert it was great, we arrived home to Michigan late Saturday and have already circled next October for the pre-thanksgiving concert. This is the 2nd concert my wife and I have attended at the church and we have loved both. The next best thing of the night was when we listened to the Live in Sydney CD we bought at the concert. This CD has all the intro's and stories that Arlo does along with the songs. It was like being at another concert.

Anyone have info on the other Church shows? I'm curious as to what all he played at them, after seeing House on this one!

I can tell you that all three shows were awesome... each a bit different, but he did play House of the Rising Sun all three nights. I didn't keep a setlist, as I was working in the kitchen through the first half of each show. There were others there who can fill you in on the setlists, but I believe some just got home late last night, or are traveling today, so it may be a day or two before the other lists get posted.

Saturday concert at the church was fab. Drove 900+ miles to attend, can't wait till next year. Arlo's granddaughter stole the show. Loved the seating and menu.

I went to the Sunday concert, but didn't keep a setlist. It wouldn't have been complete anyway since we missed the first half hour due to flooded roads and a landslide on the Mass Pike! The show was wonderful, though. Arlo was brilliant as always, and it was my first time at the Church. I'm definitely going back again. I bought the Live CD as well, and have played it through 3 times already.
