I just want to thank Arlo for giving providing me with one more great
show to remember.

The friends I took tonight with me had a wonderful time, and my friend
Dennis was brought to tears by the symphony music, he thought it was so
beautiful.

The twilight zone part was that when we got back to the car - the George Noory Coast to Coast show was on-air - and they were talking about finding Joseph's mummy. Yes, the same Joseph Arlo had been singing about just minutes before.....

Who'd a thunk I'd be hearing so much about Joseph in one night.

I attended the show last night at Springfield Symphony Hall, I decided to go the last minute I needed to get out of closet confinement I got tired of hanging around so I needed a cheering up enhancement. Man, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra was a blast along with Arlo like peanut butter and jelly The audience consisted of mostly the older generation made up of approximate ages of 65-85 and most of them enjoyed themselves. For instance one elderly man in the audience was singing along to City Of New Orleans at the top of his lungs and later on the same man sang along to I Can't Help Falling In Love With You as he looked at his wife and held her hand. How sweet was that?

Springfield Symphony Orchestra opened the show with an Appalachian Mountain dance song(I think) that Arlo's mother danced to years and years ago, song lasted 30 minutes.

At the Springfield concert my wife Charlene and I were sitting next to an elderly couple (not knocking it, we are in our sixties) they appeard to be in their late seventies.
The woman told Charlene that she liked Kenny Rogers and that other performer who helps out people, "you know who it is" and she started singing a Willie Nelson tune.
After the first half she said, "I don't know if I can get used to this guy.
Charlene responded by saying, "Well, in the second half you will get used to him believe me."
In the second half when Arlo did Alice's and the story of Joseph the woman was laughing non-stop. Charlene said the chair was shaking the woman was laughing so hard.
The woman's final take on the show was, and I quote, "He's funnier than hell"

My brother-in-law Elmers sister is named Charlene too & she just loves Arlo. She really liked him doing CONO...

Speaking of the older people attending - did you see the mini-busses from Glenmeadow and Reed's Landing (assisted living) waiting outside? Although I think it's great that they brought people, at the same time it gave me chills thinking these people actually wanted to attend - and that they know who Arlo Guthrie is.

Seems the line between my generation and my parent's is fading away and its making me real uncomfortable....

The good thing is though, that I bet those older people had a Hell of a fun night - just like me!
