Wow... I've been an Arlo fan for as long as I can remember, maybe mostly because of my love for Pete Seeger. While I've seen Pete several times, this was the first time I've been able to see Arlo. Amazing. (It was very neat to hear him mention his lifelong friend Donny Osman, one of the most incredible local arts promoters I know.)

Perhaps the most moving part of the show was what came after the standing ovation–– a group singing of "My Peace." I was very happy to find the lyrics on this forum, and also glad to discover that someone posted a little video of it on YouTube (not from the Burlington gig). I will listen again and again, and sing out–– because YES, as Arlo mentioned last night, SONGS FIX THINGS–– especially when people in groups gain momentum and move and shake and change the world, heart by fragile and delicate heart.

Brilliant. Go in peace, indeed.

Julia

(PS-- Arlo, if you're reading-- I teach in the little town of Cabot, VT with someone I believe to be an old acquaintance of yours, Andy Pitt. Plays a mean guitar!)
