Just before locking the doors for the night, Arlo and Gordon Titcomb were checking out some of the instruments donated to the Guthrie Center by the Gibson Co. (Plans are to raffle off some of these items, watch the Guthrie Center website for details) Those who lingered long enough were treated to Arlo on mandolin and Gordon Titcomb on guitar jamming in the kitchen to The Battle Of New Orleans, Blue Moon Of Kentucky and others.

Can I ad my favorite moment...The last night a little girl named Lena, had brought hand drawn pictures for Arlo. Evidently she had written in her journal all week at school that she was going to "meet Arlo Guthrie". Her parents kept telling her she was only going to see and hear him. We found out later that she asked her mom if she could give the pictures to Arlo, if he had time before "he went home". Mom said yes but not count on it (less she be disappointed). When Arlo, (prior to the encore) appeared to be finished to this cutie, she ran up on stage and gave him the pictures. He was so kind and looked at them very carefully, and thanked her. It was an adorable moment. The next morning at the hotel lobby, she was still bouncing and happy. She asked me if I saw her "on Stage" with Mr. Guthrie.

We had a wonderful weekend. The music, the fall colors and good friends...and of course...Dilip.

Cute story Reg! This yrs. fall fundraiser had the best setlist I've seen in yrs. Arlo is full of surpizes, that's a fact.

***Second wk end, I was listening to the Beatles doin a Woody cover. "It takes a married man to sing a worried song"!

Out of the 2 choices, gone to Mass. or hooking up her washer & dryer. You could probly guess, they can get mean & nasty without clean clothes....<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/eek.gif" width=15 height=15>

Next yr!...<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>....it gives me something to live for....ral...We did miss ALL you guys. Much.

P.S. It's good to see Arlo still doin those old tunes. Leadbelly & Woody are a staple, but more importantly, dusting off the old setlist is refreshing to say the least.

Reading these setlists is cool.. but the "real" question is:

Did Sarah and Johnny bring Olivia?

Yes, Miss Olivia was there every night, and she's very cute, too!

Sarah said from stage that Johnny and her had a new baby girl 2 months ago(exactly) and that they were high on life, by way of intro to a song.

I only saw Olivia twice, once for a few seconds being whisked through the crowd, with Sarah saying..."She's hungry". What I saw of her she is really adorable.

Serena however, was very much there - actually everywhere - looking beautiful in a pink sequin princess gown.

I can't help but wonder if the jam session between Arlo and Gordon might have been a preview of the much anticipated 32 Cents album. Time will tell...

Actually, Oliva has been making it to almost all the shows Sarah & Johnny are doing from what I understand after talking to Johnny. And Johnny did mention that "She's 8 weeks old... done more states than weeks." <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

The informal jam was way cool, I just wish I had recorded it... oh well!
