Hi, everyone!
We just returned from a wonderful trip to Nashville. We drove from Ohio just for the Woody tribute concert (and to see Arlo of course) and it was just amazing to see and hear all the different interpretations of Woody's words and music. Many members of the Guthrie family were there, and Nora introduced them. I have a setlist and although I was pretty careful, I may not have everything just right, there were SO many people there to sing--some very familiar, some new, some great artists who I had never had the chance to see or hear before. Here's my best try:

Opening was a new group that Nora had heard just a day or two previously. Old Crow Medicine Show, a group of energetic young men who play bluegrass/country. They entertained the crowd during a ticket snafu, playing:

I know this is a long post, but the concert lasted about 3 1/2 hours, plus about an hour delay because of some ticket mix-ups, but it was great sitting in the Ryman with all the history of that building.
Hal Leventhal was there, and he said he had tried to book Woody in the Ryman years and years ago, but was turned down--he finally made it!
Marty Stuart also gave a big push to have Woody inducted into the Country Hall of Fame. We'll see if that happens.
It was a wonderful concert, and again, just amazing to see the influence Woody's words and music had on so many different people.
