John, Regina, rb, Judy, ... all of you put it much better than I could do. I just want to add that yesterday, our first day back where we work and live, I got on the turnpike, headed for work. The smog, the traffic--the incredibly rude people cutting in front of me (who would so disrespect other people?)--it was really getting to me. I was feeling down and more down, getting depressed and feeling sorry for myself. Then I gave myself a (mental) shake, and felt all those arms--all those hugs from the weekend. I started humming and then singing "My Peace," and I knew it was (and is and will be) okay. Thank you, Arlo, for saying from the stage that we're all family. We are. Some of us were there physically this weekend, some weren't, but we all were "there" and always are. It's a privilege to be able to go back home from time to time. The Revivals are aptly named.

...i was at Saturday night's concert....truly wonderful music.....some new songs, yes....and some great familiar ones....but as always it's the healing energy that grows and grows in that wonderful place that makes it extraordinarily joyful....

...and then there's the you-never-know-what's-gonna-happen thing that is so much fun.....there were Sarah and Johnny and their beautiful Olivia......a great new tshirt....even a partly built all access ramp!!....i know it will go all the way someday.....soon or later;).....

...and the wonderful energy of the Guthrie family....Arlo signin stuff as he must get so tired of doing sometimes but never shows it......Abe, Lisa G talkin to folks (Krishna has his own band now!)....getting a chance to see and talk to Jackie again.....who looks more beautiful than ever.....and that of course means spirit, too....

...and what Ceashel said....perfect, Shelley.... it's a home for me... and as soon as my feet hit the ground i feel it ... there's a few of them around but they are rare and precious... can't explain it but stopped trying many years ago....

...and love and gratitude to all the Blunderers who were there ... or wished they were .. or who used to be .... you can move your body away from home.... but part of your spirit will always be there... maybe that's why it gets harder and harder to leave... so many special folks ....

There is something SO special about the Church ... I feel SO peaceful whenever I'm there. I haven't been there as many times (or for as long) as many of you - this is only my third year but I can feel and see the happiness. So many of you know so much more about the Guthrie family than I do - I am envious. It's like Arlo says (about the Church) -- "It's hard to explain to others about this place." I guess that's how I feel, too. Something keeps drawing back again and again. Friends and family say "Why are you going there again?" I have no explanation that anyone would understand -- it's a feeling of peace, of belonging, of an extended family -- not only to see Arlo (altho seeing Arlo brings closure to the whole experience). I guess I'm a new blunderite of three years but I feel at home in the Church. Thanks to all that make that happen. Peace

Hey, for what it's worth, I knew it was an encore! Being a repeat offender(as adg likes to call us) or one of the unusual suspects(as I like to call us) has gotta give us some kind of power to see these things when they happen!

Just curious: is My Front Pages an adg original? I know Bob has a song called My Back Pages, but I haven't heard of My Front Pages.

I'm new to this forum, but my wife & I have been doing the Columbus Day weekend Saturday for I guess five years now. One constant piece of it was waiting in line to get a good seat (not that there are bad seats) and having a good time with those in line. One person in particular was the most fun.

Saturday, we called to see if the doors were opening early as it was pouring on Saturday, and thankfully, they were. We got there, maybe we were 10th and line and immediately noticed Gaye Lynch's paintings. She had said that she was working on an exhibit at the Guthrie Center, and we were happy to see her great work up there (I took a picture of her & Arlo the night she presented her painting of the church). No sign of Gaye, though, and she was usually first in line with her discreet cup of bourbon & ice. After we got into the sanctuary, I came out to see if she and David were on the list since they are diehard regulars. I was not expecting to learn that Gaye had died a couple of weeks ago.

It's funny, this is someone I had spoken with maybe 5-6 times in my life, but damn, my wife & I considered her our waiting-in-line pal and were looking forward to our usual banter while waiting for the doors to open. She always laughed at my jokes. Gaye was an intergral part of our Guthrie Center experience, and her death leaves a real void in the waiting-in-line community. I was hoping we'd see David that night to offer our condolences and thank him for sharing Gaye with us. She was a gem.

David was there, but didn't come in the Church Saturday night. And while he doesn't come to these forums, we'll be sure that he sees your post. David talked quite a lot on Sunday about how much Gay loved her Blunderite friends and how much it meant to her to be at the church with them.
