Arlo pulled out some surprises each night of the Church concerts. Each show was different, with their own surprises. I didn't keep setlists, but was especially tickled by "Oh, Susannah" and "I Dream Of Jeannie" at Sunday night's show--not just by the fact that he played them, but because it was so much fun to watch Abe and Gordon's reactions to them. I think Gordon finally said "We don't do those songs......", with a somewhat quizzled look on his face, even though they had started to play along. And of course, anytime Arlo sings "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" at a show, it makes my night. I was one very happy camper!

I'm not 100% sure of the timing, but I'm pretty sure that North Korea blasted off thier first test nuke at the same time Arlo was doing "Alice" last night. Talk about your yin and yang and the need to keep singing!

I hope he does Suzanna & Jeannie at the Birchmere shows. Hint, Hint...

Anyone know how this compares to the Guthrie Fam Legacy Tour setlists?

It's different, except for Alice's and a couple other things. The Church shows are just different (thank goodness!) than anything else. It's a natural law that it should be so. Arlo explained that carefully each night, lest some newbie should think that he would be that crazy on a regular basis. He does his best to protect them, but they keep showing up. (As we have done.) If you've not seen the Legacy tour, don't assume that going to the Church last weekend covers it. Its is AWESOME in a completely separate way.

The Guthrie Family Legacy Tour has a lot of new songs....I went to the Boone, NC show in July, and I had never heard them do about 40% of the songs Arlo and SL&J performed. The Church shows were wonderful, and the new Family Legacy Tour is equally wonderful, in a different way. I think if Woody was still with us,he would be really proud to hear so many of his songs come to life again, and be performed by his family.
